If you live in a home with both cats and dogs, they’ll likely be playing a game of “Whose bed is it anyway?”

You may purchase a new bed for your large dog, but your cat may be the one to claim it.

But who is at fault?

According to Figo Pet Insurance, they both are.

“We admit sometimes cats can be jerks and sometimes dogs are just big babies. Cats like to be cozy, typically inside a box or small spaces. Other times, they seemingly want to show the dogs of the house who is really the leader of the pack,” their website they posted.

“The dogs are either too polite, scared of confrontation, or too tired to put a fight. Probably all three.”

And it is at this point that dogs will look to their owners to mediate the conflict.

In the video below, the Golden Retriever walks into the living room, ready to nap in his big soft fluffy bed.

He immediately sensed something was wrong and dashed over to the bed, only to find the cat glomming it.

The cat then looks up at him as if to say, “Scram dog!”

This dog is distressed and begins shuffling around the bed’s perimeter.

His annoyance was audible through his constant huffing.

This good boy continues to pant and circle the bed as if the cat will simply give up.

He even barks at her, but this tiny kitten is too comfortable to move.

But don’t worry, this dog isn’t going to give up either. He continues to bark and nuzzles the big bed.

He looks to his human, who is filming the ordeal as if he is pleading for support.

When he is not given one, he decides to become more aggressive with the cat.

As a result, he circles the other side of the bed, barking at the cat. He then nuzzles his head beneath it in an attempt to nudge the cat away without incurring the wrath of a claw to the head.

He then takes a risk and flips half the bed over.

Still, the cat is unfazed. He then nudges the entire bed, attempting to flip it over and get the cat out.
But it doesn’t work so well, and the tiny kitten in the middle of the bed just meows.

This dog must resort to more drastic measures, and he decides to drag the bed away with his mouth.

His efforts are futile and he appears to be on the verge of giving up.

So he just lays down beside the bed and pants for a while to rest and plan a new strategy.

“Maybe the cat will share?” he thinks.

Therefore, he nudges himself onto the bed. And the cat is perfectly fine. But he isn’t, and he wants to reclaim his bed. He barks at her and tries to knock her off, but all he gets from the cat is a hiss.

He eventually finds himself halfway on the bed.

Then on the bed’s side. That’s when the cat realizes he’s been sleeping in an even better bed all along.

The canine! Thus, she climbs on top of him as he lies on the floor next to “their” bed.

And now that they’re close and cuddling, they both appear to be delighted.
