Goofy-looking husky finally gets adopted after going viral for her adorably silly face

We all know our dogs can be pretty goofy, and that’s just part of what we love. One sweet husky was born goofy, though, and by that, we don’t just mean her personality.

An adorable husky named Jubilee has been making her rounds on the internet recently for her hysterically silly face.

As it turns out, though, there’s a sad story behind that pleasantly surprised expression permanently painted on the husky’s face.

Jubilee was born a couple of years ago to a New Jersey-based husky breeder. While this dog-breed tends to be known for their stoic, mesmerizing looks, Jubilee came out looking quite a bit different than the rest of the pups in her litter.

Sadly, the breeder ended up surrendering her to the Husky House dog shelter when he couldn’t find a buyer for her. When he signed her over, he told shelter workers that he couldn’t sell the pup simply because “she’s too weird-looking.”

The staff at Husky House couldn’t have possibly disagreed more with Jubilee’s breeder.

We think she’s absolutely beautiful!” Exclaimed a Husky House representative in an interview with The Dodo.

Though the shelter workers see Jubilee for the sweet, beautiful, free-spirited husky that she is, it would appear that all too many New Jersey residents had agreed with her breeder. The loveable girl has been at the shelter since she was first surrendered over two years ago.

Though her precious face has been there for all the adopt-a-pet meet and greets, she has been passed up for the other huskies in her shelter countless times.

In her profile post to social media, Jubilee’s friends at the shelter describe her as “shy”.

They explain that, due to the way some people respond to her in fits of laughter, it takes her a minute to warm up to new people.

My name is Jubilee. I’m a 4 year old female husky who has been with Husky House for a long time. I came from a “breeder” who couldn’t sell me because he said I was “weird” looking. Huskies are majestic looking dogs and I don’t know why I don’t look like them….I love people, but I’m a little shy because people mostly laugh at the way I look,” it reads.

Fortunately, in an odd twist of fate, it was Jubilee’s silly expression that made her go so viral and led to her finding her forever home.

The Husky House recently reposted her profile to their Facebook page, hoping to finder Jubilee the forever family she so deserves. Not only did their own post of her adorable face go viral, getting close to 50,000 shares in just under two weeks and tens of thousands of comments and interactions, but it also reached beyond the confines of just Facebook.

A follower of the Husky House couldn’t help but post the sweet, goofy-looking dog to Reddit with the caption “This is Jubilee. She just happens to look like bad taxidermy.”

Though the caption may have been harsh, her picture skyrocketed to over 40,000 upvotes and melted thousands of hearts. While people online were saying they wanted her, Husky House said not too many applications had rolled in. Well, in a matter of days all of that changed.

They happily updated Jubilee’s Facebook post to announce she had finally found her forever family.

UPDATE – Thanks to everyone who shared Jubilee’s story. She has found her forever home with previous Husky House adopters and joins her new fur-siblings in a wonderful new life!

That, my friends, is the power of the internet and a willingness to share. We are so happy for Jubilee and the lucky family that gets to love on her every day from now on.
