If you happened to be flying through Canada’s Victoria International Airport last June, you may have seen a reunion that looked like it came straight from the Jurassic period.

Owen and Ethan Cooper thought they were going to pull one over on their visiting grandmother, but it turns out she was one step ahead of them – and the whole family, as well as anyone watching nearby, got the laugh of a lifetime.

It actually all started in August of 2018 when the boys went to visit their grandmother in Toronto. She picked them up from the baggage claim area at the Toronto Pearson International Airport wearing a giant, inflatable T-rex costume.

As you might imagine, the boys thought it was totally awesome as they were scooped up by the surprise dinosaur.

After that, Owen and Ethan begged for dinosaur costumes of their own and the lucky boys each got velociraptor gear to wear for Halloween from grandma.

In the hopes of pranking her back on her visit to Victoria last year, the brothers hatched a plan to wear those velociraptor costumes to pick her up from the airport along with the mom Tabitha Cooper.

But you can’t pull one over on grandma.

It turns out grandma had arranged quite the caper with the help of airport security.

She couldn’t exactly wear her inflatable T-rex costume on the plane, but they assisted her in changing into it once she disembarked.

It turns out she was able to pack the whole thing into her carry-on luggage!

“They thought they were getting her back,” said the boys’ mother. “Little did they know she’d be dressed as a dinosaur as well.”

That’s right. Bounding out of the gate came grandma, once again dressed as a T-rex, but this time she was greeted by two tiny velociraptors!

So there they were – three dinosaurs all greeting each other at the airport, bouncing around, giggling, and hugging.

Can you imagine being at the airport and seeing this happen? Especially since everyone involved was laughing and surprised as well!

Normally the airport isn’t a very fun-loving place and one has to be careful just what kind of pranks they pull to avoid getting into trouble, so it’s nice to know that it can still withstand some fun and games from time to time.

As grandma-saurus embraced her little velociraptors, we kind of wish we could see the reaction of onlookers. They must have been so confused!

If you arrived at the wrong moment it probably looks like a pretty sketchy scene to see three dinosaurs laughing together with no humans nearby.

Didn’t we see this kind of plotting in one of the Jurassic Park movies?

Alas, there was no risk to humanity from this reunion.

In fact, there was even more good news for the family to share. It turns out grandma was in town because the Coopers are expecting another child soon.

And don’t worry, grandma already has plans to buy him or her their own tiny dinosaur costume.
