Woman had same hairstyle since high school – goes short strawberry blonde
Christopher Hopkins has made it his life mission to transform the looks of men and women to give them a second lease in life.
He started his beauty and makeover career in 1990 when he opened his first salon inside a TV station in St. Paul, Minnesota. He transformed the looks of the on-air hosts Mondays to Fridays for years and was even awarded Modern Salon of the Year.
In 1994, he moved out of the studio and opened a full-service image development center.
He called it Christopher Hopkins Imaging Center. The center built his name in the beauty industry, which earned him a guest spot on The Oprah Winfrey Show as a makeover expert.
He sold the center and opened a new one called Revamp! Salonspa in Minnesota in 2000. During this time, he wrote his bestselling book, “Staging Your Comeback: A Complete Beauty Revival For Women Over 45.”
In 2009, he started to document the makeovers he created on his YouTube channel.
This led him to open the Makeover Guy Appearances Studios in uptown Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2017. In this new studio, he transformed the looks of men and women all over the world daily, transforming their lives into something new and different.
One of those women is 68-year-old Brenda.
Brenda had come all the way from Salt Lake City, Utah so Christopher can makeover her looks. She had been taking care of her husband and their family since they got married.
And when her children got married and had children of their own, she took care of her grandchildren, too.
But now, it’s time to take care of herself.
“I’ve worn my hair this way since I graduated from high school, 50 years [ago],” Brenda told the Makeover Guy team. “I’m finally at an age where I felt like I was… worthy of it. We put ourselves last on the list [and I] decided I could bump myself up.”
Brenda told them she wanted the works.
She wanted a new haircut, new hair color, and even make-up to change her look.
“My long hair was my security blanket. Everybody would comment on it, ‘oh, it’s so pretty’… and kept it long,” Brenda shared. “I finally looked at it and said, ‘oh, no, it’s not pretty.’ It’s exciting to come and get it cut off.”
And the makeover team rolled up their sleeves, tied up their hair, and got to work with their magic. Brenda was even more excited when they finished.
“I have so much more self-confidence right now, the flow and energy, and excited to embrace life,” Brenda said.
And it’s definitely written on her face. She went from a 60-year-old grandma to a younger version remember to enjoy her life on her own terms.
And Christopher’s YouTube viewers love her transformation!
“She looks like a whole new woman! From frump to fabulous,” Gina B said.
“I’m having a hard time believing this is the same woman! Karen W added.
“She’s exactly the kind of giving person we love to see get treated for once. Wow! She came to life!” Violet Joy stated.
Brenda is so ecstatic about her new look, she’s even singing the Andrews Sisters song, “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.”
