Plenty of couples choose to keep the name and sex of their future children a secret while they’re still expecting. Sometimes it’s to stave off any unwanted advice or criticism, but lots of people just like the surprise.

Anna Williams and her husband knew what to expect when she gave birth around the holidays in 2018, but their family and friends had no idea the kind of secret they were keeping.

“What?! Are you kidding me?!” was the most common reaction to the big reveal.

Grandma arrives

Like any grandparent, Anna’s mother arrives at the hospital with great excitement – she can’t wait to get her hands on her new baby granddaughter.

She sits down and looks at the newborn adoringly – but it’s clear her daughter and son-in-law are preoccupied.

And they don’t wait long to share the surprise.

Anna beckons someone in who was waiting at the door right behind her mother.

And as a nurse pops her head around the curtain, you can see the grandma had no idea what was coming.

As grandma was bonding with the new baby, the nurse had wheeled in a special delivery.

“WHAT?!” she says as she looks up.

And her daughter is clearly relishing the moment.

Double the emotion

Grandma can’t believe what she’s seeing and immediately bursts into tears.

After months of secrecy, the couple finally reveals that they were pregnant with twin girls.

The nurse wheeled in her second granddaughter that she didn’t even know existed.

Overcome with emotion, she looks down at the baby in her arms and tries to process the moment. But she’s got a question:

“How did you keep that a secret?!”

It’s an emotional moment when dad brings over the second granddaughter. The couple’s big secret was finally out and everything went exactly as planned.

Not all commenters were sure they could pull off what the Williams family did.

“My mother would kill me. Like, for sure, kill me if I’d do this to her,” said a viewer.

Surprising the rest of the family

Now that Anna’s mom knew, it was time to let the cat out of the bag to the rest of the couple’s family and friends.

And the Facetime calls the couple recorded from the hospital are incredibly sweet.

People either burst out laughing or burst into tears at the news. It’s clear that this couple has a lot of people who love them and are happy to see their family grow.

Anna’s sister Lindsey was particularly overcome.

And, of course, there was a second set of grandparents to surprise.

This couple really got their money’s worth by introducing their twins to everyone separately!

The Williams’ already had two children, so overnight they became a family of 6.

A history of surprises

The couple has two other YouTube videos on their channel and they’re both filled with reactions to the announcements of their first two pregnancies.

The first involved giving friends and family a gift that let them know they were expecting their son while the second video involves the little boy in a t-shirt announcing that he’s going to be a brother.

And let’s just say that the Williamses have a support system that really knows how to react the right way to a pleasant surprise.
