Grandpa brings dog to furniture store to make sure she approves of new chair
If you have ever been to a furniture store before, you probably already know that there is not that much going on to cause any real excitement. Other than maybe finding a super comfy chair or couch.
Well, when one grandpa’s chair wore out he decided it was time to go get a new one. Only, he was going to create a memory that will last a long time for the folks helping him.
Meet the man who never wanted a dog of his own, but cannot even go shopping for a new chair without one particular pup.
It only takes the love of one dog to change a person’s mind forever.
In a story published by TheAnimalRescueSite, Aleecia Dahl told them that her grandpa never wanted to have a dog of his own, but when he met Coco he had a change of heart.
The two are inseparable now and do everything together, including sitting in his favorite recliner chair.
He never knew until he tried.
When you go all of your life ’til retirement believing something is a certain way, it could be argued that it is not that easy to change your mind on the subject.
“They are the best of friends that he never knew he needed,” Aleecia explained in an interview with The Dodo.
Aleecia’s grandpa cares so much for this little pup that he wanted to make sure she would have plenty of room on the footrest of the chair he bought. So, he took his beloved companion to the store to try them out.
“Coco was always greeted with a smile, as I am sure it’s not every day a man and his dog go furniture shopping,” Aleecia said.
He wouldn’t have it any other way.
Have you ever wondered why your furry best friend wants to sit right next to you, or even closer… right on top of your lap? Here are five possible reasons that are mentioned by Hilspet.com –
Spreading their scent – they say that when your dog sits or rolls around in ‘your’ spot they are marking the territory and trying to let you know that you are all theirs.
Is it the type of dog you have?
Another reason they mention is that it may be normal behavior for the breed of your dog.
For instance, the Great Dane is mentioned as being the ‘Gentle Giant’ and is known for protecting children in particular.
So don’t be alarmed if you see this giant dog trying to sit on your kids’ lap.
This is my human!
The third reason they say might be that your dog is asserting dominance.
This seems to be more common if you have recently added a new dog to your home or to an already existing pack. PETMD recommends that if aggressive behavior gets worse or more frequent to contact your vet for help.
Sometimes dogs just want to have fun.
The article says that both female and male dogs sit on their owners for fun sometimes and that this may create an opportunity to have some fun playtime with your pup, but be careful, there may be a lot of kisses coming your way they say.
The story finishes with some good feeling cuddle time for you and your beloved pet. They say that this a great time to bond with your dog.
Well, if that’s the case, then this grandpa is making for one of the best dog-dads around!
