Grandpa shares spotlight with little girl during quarantine dance battle

This six-year-old has some pretty incredible dance moves.

One of the best parts of quarantine is the time we get to spend with family. While everyone else is in lockdown, a little girl spent a ton of quality time with her grandfather.

Now you might be tempted to get mad at them for not staying home, but take a breath for a second and listen to the story.

But you don’t have to take it from us!

This video will definitely take the stress of the quarantine off of your shoulders. Get ready to laugh and enjoy some wholesome family content.

But the two are some of the internet’s favorite dancers. We have Kira Neely, a six-year-old prodigy, and her grandpa, 81-year-old Marvin.

Kira and her grandfather have been close for many years. She was just a baby when they moved across the street.

Sherrie Neely, Kira’s mother, has mentioned that the months that have gone by are tough for the two. The kindergartner hasn’t been able to go see her elderly grandparents for a while because she doesn’t want to spread anything to them that she could have contracted.

But that doesn’t stop the cute duo from having fun during the quarantine.

Social distancing is being practiced all around the world, and the standard 6 feet of space is what the CDC is ruling for everyone.

The rules on the playground are a little different. So they had a special dance-off to have a bit of fun.

Kira and Marvin have been honoring invisible lines, as they stay on the right side of safety. Nashville, Tennessee is a good spot for the happy family and the neighborhood.

Sherrie posted to her Facebook page:

“Kira loves her “Papa” so much and they’ve now started daily “dance offs” since the virus is keeping them separated. My Dad is turning 81 years old next month and I’ve never seen him dance, but he’s really putting forth great effort and has some special moves!!!!”

Kira is seen in the video performing some quite impressive acrobatic moves. She does all of this with her special stick that aids her dancing. Marvin isn’t quite as flexible as Kira, but he still tries his best.

But he is doing pretty well for an old guy! He definitely surprised us.

Sherrie, a single mom living in Tennessee told the USA Today that they have been staying away from the grandparents because they could be asymptomatic carriers. But they are still trying to keep in touch.

“The fact that we can still get outside and have fun from a distance means everything to us, and helps to give us a sense of normalcy in such a crazy time. I’m so thankful Kira will always have these memories of her time with her Papa.”

The duo does play other games too. Kicking soccer balls across the road and drawing chalk to show her grandparents as well. The two have lots of great fun.

“My dad also enjoys just bringing a chair outside and watching her play in the yard. But both my parents and Kira both say the thing they miss most are the hugs.”
