If you’ve been starved of adorable family interactions lately, then here’s something that’ll make you melt. It’s a grandfather having the happiest little moment with his toddler granddaughter.

Grandpa indulges in a bit of conversation with this baby girl.

She’s articulate, loud, and very expressive.

She just can’t say any words.

That’s not a problem for grandpa, though.

Speaking the same dialect, he communicates in his own set of babbles and gibberish. It ain’t hard to see the love and adoration for his granddaughter in his voice and face. She’s a precious little thing, and anyone who’s had little ones at home knows the feeling.

This conversation almost sounds like he’s bargaining for the release of Han Solo.

The little lady gives out some indecipherable toddler noises, to which grandpa nods in agreement and goes “Aaaahh” as if he understands her. He’s trying to fish the point out of her, so let him keep going!

She babbles some more while toddling around the room. Grandpa sits perfectly comfy in his chair and keeps the conversation going. The little one tries to convey more of her thoughts, this time even more loudly.

It actually looks a bit like she’s getting annoyed at having to repeat her point!

Hey, grandpa’s trying.

After the next combination of incoherent toddler sounds, grandpa gives it another response. Her following reply is pretty…exclamatory. She raises the volume tenfold, much to grandpa’s amusement. What are you trying to say, little one?

Kids will usually know how to say some actual words at just over a year old. Right around the same time they can start walking. Our little girl here seems to be close to that point already, so grandpa better make the most out of this precious stage before she grows up.

She sits down to take a breather, and grandpa peers over his armrest to articulate his response.

Placing yourself at a small child’s level for their amusement is a precious thing. You’re letting them know someone has time for them, and that means the world to a small child.

The fact that this was filmed is good news.

It’ll melt hearts and send tears down anybody’s face!

Perhaps at her graduation or wedding? Well, that might be thinking too far ahead.

Grandparents are the absolute best, and they prove that time and time again.

If mom and dad won’t get it for you, grandpa and grandma will. Don’t have any playmates from school? Time to go to your grandparents’ house.

Feeling a bit hungry? Wait right there, they’ll happily make you something to eat.

If your grandparents are still around, be sure to tell them you love them. They won’t be here forever! Give them all the hugs, kisses, gifts, and I-love-yous that they deserve.
