I love to watch these kinds of transformations because they are elaborate which makes them extremely satisfying to complete.

The way homeowners think as they change their humble abode into something new and unrecognizable is quite awesome to witness because their creative minds work differently but somehow, they always create something incredible.

One of these fabulous transformations is when this grandson decided to shake things up in his grandfather’s 200-year-old Irish cottage.

The place was not inhabited for a decade and it had all sorts of vines and plants crawling over it.

Anybody who saw the building would think that it was definitely not the best place to have a vacation in Mullinahone.

However, Jack Shelly knew that the property had so much more potential.

And so, he got to work and created a masterpiece out of his grandfather’s old home.

Jack’s grandpa was only 29 years old when he bought the cottage.

“So, my father, his parents, and his five brothers and sisters grew up in this two-bedroom house,” Jack shared in the video. “With no insulation and singled-glazed windows.”

At the age of 89, Jack’s gramps passed away and since then, the home was uninhabited for the next decade.

Because it was left unattended for the past 10 years, the home had a lot of repair jobs waiting to be completed.

After seeing the property and carefully planning how to deal with it, Jack came up not only with a transformation plan but also a business idea.

He immediately started his project of renovating the old home so he could eventually turn it into a vacation place where people would love to experience residing in an authentic Irish cottage.

His budget for the work to be done was $30,000. With the money in his hand and the plan of renovating in his mind, jack started his project.

“My father and I began clearing it out and getting rid of anything that wasn’t needed. When the clearing out was finished it was time to start with the actual renovation,” Jack said.

Jack filmed the entire process of them renovating the house and shared it on social media.

People were interested in his content and before he knew it, users on TikTok and Instagram had already started following him and watching his videos of the renovation.

“It was around this time that I started documenting the journey on TikTok and Instagram. This video went viral and I got 45,000 followers in 24 hours. I have been documenting the whole journey in detail since and have really enjoyed interacting with people through these platforms,” he shared.

Jack did the majority of the renovation tasks in the house. He cleaned it up, smashed the windows, destroyed the sink, and broke the concrete so he can rebuild it the way he wants to.

It was a tough project for a man to take up on his own, but Jack was definitely the man for the job.
