Neighbor looks over their fence – sees rambunctious Great Dane bouncing on trampoline
There are plenty of videos that are supposed to be funny and that get millions of views on social media but simply make us wonder why people waste their time.
It’s never as amusing as people would have us believe. But then we saw Gabby.
And we’ll be honest, we were curious how an enormous Great Dane would manage to jump on a trampoline to begin with, so any entertainment added to that was already going to be an extra reward.
Now, if you’ve ever had the good fortune to know a Great Dane, you’re well aware that they are beautiful, majestic, drooling couch potatoes.
And while they’re fierce protectors of their homes and families, they’re total lovebugs with their friends.
And despite being so regal, they’re also big ol’ goofballs.
Gabby is one such goofball. And her video has gone viral multiple times on many different sites, posted by various people. But the original was posted in 2013 by Mike Chandler on his Facebook.
But we’re not sure who is on the other side of fence filming Gabby, but they no doubt have a fence for a reason.
Alas, privacy isn’t really a thing for Gabby.
And while we aren’t sure if the pup is just having fun or engaged in some clever spycraft on the neighbors, we hope its the former since she’s not exactly being subtle about her desire to see what’s going on on the other side of the fence.
We know what’s about to happen – and we can hear a dog barking and we know from the title of the video that there’s a trampoline involved – but that doesn’t make it less hilarious when we see it.
Are you not entertained? (Well, maybe you need to see it in motion then.)
Can you imagine sitting out in your yard only to see this dog’s head pop up – followed by its WHOLE, enormous body?
These dogs are big – the average female Great Dane weighs between 110 and 140 pounds!
Gabby is getting some serious air for her size.
Since there’s a bit of lag between jumps we’re not sure how she’s preparing for her aerial maneuvers though.
Is she taking a running leap? Is she doing smaller jumps in between?
Our only details come from the captions on a HuffPost version on the video that says Gabby taught herself to use the trampoline specifically so she could see her neighbors. (We assume it’s because she likes them and not because she’s trying to troll them.)
Gabby is what’s called a Fawn in the Great Dane world – yellow fur with a black “mask.” You know, the ones that look like Scooby Doo!
Now, if you do decide to exercise your dog using a trampoline, you should make sure you get one with all the same safety precautions you would get for a child to avoid injury. It needs to be appropriate for their size and preferably have a net around the sides to prevent unintentional ground landings.
And if you’d like to see more trampoline antics, you can always go to YouTube, which is FULL of videos of dogs jumping on these contraptions.
Who knew they were such popular pet toys?
