Enormous Great Dane named Zeus makes record for being the world’s tallest dog

What would the tallest living dog look like?

In Dallas Farmer’s Market, a particular dog is turning heads wherever he goes.

As he walked past the stares, people were left wondering what they just saw.

What they just saw is Zeus.

Some say it’s a pony, some say it’s a full-sized horse, and some say it’s a large dog, but “large” can be pretty much underestimating.

Brittany Davis could’ve sworn that if they got a dollar for people thinking Zeus is a horse, they’d be rich.

Davis of Fort Worth, Texas said that whenever they take Zeus out, they play a game where they count the number of people saying “Whoa, that’s a horse!”

It can be easy to lose track.

We can’t blame them really because Zeus, a Great Dane, stands at 3 feet, 5.18 inches, and can further stretch up to over 7 feet when he stands on his hind legs.

For reference, Davis is only about 2 feet taller than her dog.

Reactions vary.

Davis shared with TODAY that there were only two moods – either people are in awe or they’re scared to even approach Zeus.

“Either people are super excited and they want to come over and take all the pictures and meet him, or they’re super scared and they go to the other side of the street and look at him from very far away.” Davis said to TODAY.

What’s it like to live with Zeus?

Besides actually being included in his ticket to fame, Zeus’ owners shared that living with him is pretty chill despite the space he often takes up.

He’s laid back.

He can be a bit playful too. The only problem is that Zeus seems to be unaware of how big he truly is.

He tends to play with smaller dogs and loves being a lap dog to his owners.

This often ends up with no one seeing what’s being shown on TV.

He can also be a bit tedious to walk because once other dogs weave between his legs, the whole pack can get tangled up.

Other dogs feel threatened, however.

“So when they do try to get in his face, he kind of just sits there,” Davis said to TODAY. “I mean, he’ll growl a little if they really start going after him, but most dogs are fine.”

Zeus packs a crazy appetite.

The world’s tallest dog consumes 12 cups of dog food specially made for big dogs.

They also give him supplements to help him strengthen his joints – a normal hotspot for injuries for dogs his size.

A dog like him can only come from a specific breed.

Great Danes are known for their size.

According to AKC, this is a source of pride for the owners and a contract for responsibilities.

They are described as powerful giants that embody elegance and majesty but to maintain a dog such as Zeus, they would need a lot of care and maintenance.
