Gardener shows how easy it is to grow beautiful yellow roses from buds
Have you ever stopped and smelled the roses? No, I mean literally.
Roses are such incredible blossoms, especially the yellow ones, which people believe symbolize happiness and joy.
You might be thinking that growing these amazing plants in your garden is something difficult or expensive but let me tell you something: It is not.
You don’t have to buy vases of roses over and over again to fill your garden with them.
All you need is one vase with rose buds, focus, and the patience to wait until the flower finally blooms.
Did you know that rosebud cuttings can be used to grow more roses?
Yes, that is true and one gardener took the time to capture and share how this is all done. It is not as difficult as you might expect.
Before starting your new gardening project, make sure you watered your main rose planted in the garden and prepare to have the following with you:
- Pair of scissors, sharp pruners, or a knife
- Potting soil
- A pot two to three inches deep
Once all these are complete, then you can finally begin propagating your rosebuds.
First, cut the buds carefully using any of the tools mentioned.
The best buds to get from your roses are the ones that are just about to open.
Cut them with your tool by the stem beneath the bud.
Get a stem or a thick leaf where the rosebud cutting can be stuck which would help in growing its roots out.
In the clip shared by the YouTube channel Garden Easy, the rosebud was inserted into an aloe vera leaf.
The said leaf will provide it with nutrients and will act as its natural fertilizer.
Grab the pot you prepared and put the soil in it.
Make sure the soil is loamy and not too compacted to allow the roots of the rosebud to grow easily.
The next step is watering the plant.
For the next 18 days, you need to water the pot to the point that it would be moisturized enough, but not too much that it would drip.
Remember to keep the soil moist, but do not pour more water than what is necessary.
Allow the potted bud to have some sunlight by placing it near a window.
Just be patient and do this every day until the 18th day.
On Day 18, expect to see the buds bloom.
The blooming rosebud should have roots by this time.
Carefully lift the blooming rosebud from the pot and wash away the soil to reveal the roots which have already grown.
Prepare a much bigger pot where you can cultivate the soil in which the rose will continue to thrive and grow bigger.
The key point is to transfer it to the bigger pot without destroying the rose’s roots. Another option is to move it to your garden soil.
Continue the same process of watering the soil just enough for it to moisten.
Isn’t this method simple and effective? This might just be the sign that you can now make your dream come true of having a gardenful of roses.
