Newest 'Grumpiest Cat in the World' is even grumpier than the original

Remember the original grumpy cat? She shot to internet fame a few years back, and it wasn’t long before her moody face was emblazoned on everything from t-shirts and socks to mugs and Christmas cards.

Sadly, Grumpy Cat passed onto kitty heaven in 2019, aged 7, where she’s probably still scaring off other felines with her resting b*tch face. She had an underbite and feline dwarfism, which, aside from giving her that comical expression we know so well, can shorten the lifespan of a cat quite significantly. In Grumpy Cat’s case, it appeared that she died of complications of a urinary tract infection.

As is the way with showbusiness, when one big star passes on, another one is introduced into the world. In this case, the new grumpy cat has just made her emergence – and, if possible, she’s even grumpier than her predecessor.

Meet the new ā€œgrumpiest cat in the worldā€. With the expression of an old man who’s just eaten something unpleasant, Kitzia has over 50k Instagram followers and counting. Based in Florida and owned by Ukrainian photographer Viktoriia Otdielnova, the sad-faced tabby cat has been making the rounds on the internet thanks to the natural scowl she like to wear.

According to cat mom Viktoriia, Kitzia is actually a very sweet, loving kitty, so don’t let appearances deceive you! The grumpy girl appears to love all of the standard cat things, like eating, chilling on the floor, sitting on Viktoriia’s lap an sleeping.

Of course, anyone who owns a cat will also know that they tend to be fairly judgemental creatures, and we’re sure Viktoriia feels the weight of Kitzia’s stare a bit more than the rest of us do.

She might not look too happy about it, but Kitzia has achieved almost overnight stardom on Instagram, and already has the blue tick of the elite. Her bio says that she’s ā€œa cat with emotionsā€ (you can say that again!) and adds, ā€œYeah, I am a girlā€. Bless.

Kitzia is already popular enough for random artists on Instagram to draw her, which is pretty much how you know you’ve made an impact on the platform. But it’s clear that fame isn’t getting to her head, even as the sponsorship and collaboration opportunities are likely rolling in.

With an Instagram page bursting with pictures and images, Kitzia and her mom make sure there’s plenty for adoring fans to coo over. There are videos of Kitzia enjoying being petted by Viktoriia, watching birds on TV, and getting her claws out during playtime. There are, of course, also plenty of pictures of Kitzia’s face, showcasing her glaring eyes and moody grimace.

People can’t get enough of this new grumpy cat, with one Instagram user commenting:

ā€œShe certainly does keep me smiling, thank you for your wonderful posts and pics ā¤ļøā€

Another user made a very accurate point:

ā€œIf 2020 was a cat, it would be this one. :-Dā€

Amusingly, one user even commented:

ā€œDo you want to sell this cat….I’ll pay any amount this cat is killing me…grumpy looking but very cuteā€

We’d imagine Viktoriia may get a few requests of a similar nature if Kitzia’s fame continues to rise! You can check out more adorable pictures and videos of this furry internet sensation on Kitzia’s own Instagram account here.
