German Shepherd dad shows puppies how to have fun in the snow

Dads will always be dads. They will protect their offspring and make sure they have the courage to be themselves. The same idea applies to the animal kingdom too. The behavior is something that happens out of instinct.

One video is going viral on the internet.

It’s about a litter of German Shepherd puppies having the best time of their lives in the snow. With them is their loving dad.

At the start of the video, we see five young puppies staying near a parked car.

As young as they are, they’re a bit timid. They’re probably scared of their surroundings and what could happen if they explored more than they’re supposed to.

Fortunately, their dad was there.

He playfully danced around his young ones, as if encouraging them to step out and join him. Even as the puppies showed little courage, dad didn’t give up.

He continued dancing around his puppies.

Eventually, they got braver. They forgot about their shyness and eventually, they joined dad in a mini dance party.

Dad playfully bowed and darted around.

His puppies interpreted his actions as an invitation to do the same thing and that’s exactly what they did. They chased dad and joined him in having fun in the snow.

The scene is so pure and touching.

Even though it’s just a video of a German Shepherd and his offspring, it was still so sweet. It shows how a little fur family can have fun even in really cold weather.

It was probably the first time the puppies experienced snow.

And fortunately, their dad was around to show them how to have fun in such weather. It was cold but they didn’t mind.

German Shepherds love the cold weather.

They have a double coat. Basically, it means that they have two layers of fur. Their undercoat is soft but thick. It helps insulate them against the cold during winter. It’s also what helps them beat the heat in the summer.

Obviously, even though dogs of this breed can tolerate low temperatures, it doesn’t mean that you should let them stay outdoors during winter for long hours. Like all dogs, they need to be indoors during winter to make sure nothing bad happens to them.

When dogs are exposed to really low temperatures, they could end up developing hypothermia, a condition where their temperatures fall below normal. Once this happens and no actions were taken, their muscles may stiffen and their heart rates may go really slow. They may even die because of it.

The puppies had so much fun!

Of course, they had to show dad that they enjoyed their day in the snow. And since they can’t talk, the only way for them to show their appreciation is by giving dad a sweet kiss.

Near the end of the video, you’ll see some of the puppies come up to their dad.

Then, they planted a sweet kiss on his nose. It was so sweet and adorable to watch!
