Guy discovers what his cat really does while he’s sleeping
When you go to sleep, you may think that your pet takes a time-out too. After all, you’re not awake to entertain it. Sure, it can eat and play around, but that can get boring, even for your pet. Some people’s pets like to sleep next to them at night. If that’s you and your pet, then you pretty much know what they’re up to.
But, what if your pet doesn’t sleep when you sleep? Do you really know what it’s doing while you’re catching some shut-eye?
Meet Aaron Brown and his cat Tormund. Brown adopted Tormund from a local rescue group a few months ago. He thought it would be fun to have a cat around. It could keep him company, he could play with it. It would be fun…right? Well, sure, that is until night hits!
Maybe Tormund is an insomniac or maybe he has no concept of time, we really don’t know. What we do know is that Tormund likes to party like it’s 1999. He doesn’t really care that Brown is trying to sleep. He wants to play and do what he wants to do.
That got Brown to thinking. How can I know what Tormund is really doing while I’m sleeping?
So, he decided to record the nighttime hours so he and everyone else can see just what Tormund likes to do.
Tormund obviously doesn’t care about personal space. He runs up to Brown’s face for a midnight licking. Tormund does take a little break for rest…right on top of Brown’s chest. But, that doesn’t last for long.
He quickly gets fidgety and goes in for another licking.
Even when Brown moves around in the bed, Tormund doesn’t stop. Take a hint kitty! The man is trying to sleep! This time he takes a break from the face licking and goes for the hands and arms. Tormund then starts licking himself…nothing like a little bath in the middle of the night.
Tormund does run out of the room for a few minutes. But, he comes right back for another round.
For a few minutes, it’s a pretty steady pattern of Tormund licking himself, taking a rest, jumping off the bed, and running off. He comes back each and every time.
He also gets a little creepy when he just sits in front of Brown and watches him sleep.
One thing is for sure, this cat is persistent. He doesn’t get the fact that Brown is sleeping and that this isn’t playtime. Or, maybe he does, and he just doesn’t care. We don’t know, but one thing is for sure, Tormund does not like to sleep at night.
Even when Brown tries to move Tormund to the side, he just comes back for more. He not only continues to climb on top of Brown, but he also climbs on the nightstand.
Brown eventually wakes up and starts checking his phone. It seems like Tormund wants to know what’s going on too. He watches the screen for a while and then starts jumping around again.
After seeing the video for himself, Brown was even surprised at just how active Tormund is at night. But, he says he doesn’t regret adopting him one bit. Plus, it makes for some great storytelling.
