4 guys beg neighbor to play with their dog and get the best letter in return

Having a dog in your life just makes everything so much better. After all, dogs are called a man’s best friend for a reason!

These trusty four-footers are always there when you need them, love nothing more than to play around, and will often shower their owners with love and affection.

Unfortunately, not everyone who wants a dog as a pet can actually have one, just like these four housemates from the United Kingdom.

The four friends would love to have a pet around them but, unfortunately, pets aren’t allowed by the landlord.

However, there was one pooch in their lives that all four guys were absolutely smitten about, the neighbor’s adorable dog who listens to the name Stevie Ticks.

The housemates then wrote a letter to the owner of Stevie Ticks, with the simple question if they could hang out with the pretty pooch once in a while.

They received a letter back, and the response was absolutely heartwarming, to say the least.

“Been saying we’d love a dog about the house but our landlord doesn’t allow pets, so my housemate posted a letter to our neighbours asking if we could walk their dog every once and a while and the response was better than we could have ever hoped for,” 23-year old Jack McCrossan, one of the four housemates, posted on Twitter.

In the letter, “the boys from number 23”, as they call themselves, tell a bit more about themselves and how thew absolutely fell in a love with a certain four-legged someone.

“The other day, we noticed a four-legged friend looked at us out the window when we arrived home from work. He or She looked like the good-est boy/girl there is. If you ever need someone to walk him/her, we will gladly do so. If you ever get bored (we know you never will, but we can dream), we are more than happy to look after him/her. If you want to come over and bring him/her to brighten up our day, you are more than welcome. If you want to walk past our balcony windows so we can see him/her, please do.

We hope this doesn’t come too strong, but our landlord won’t allow pets, and we’ve all grown up with animals. The adult life is a struggle without one.”

Not long after, the owner of the dog sent them a handwritten letter back, addressed to none other than “the boys”.

The envelope even had the paw print of the dog on the backside!

“We were ecstatic at the response and couldn’t wait to walk her. Once we saw the paw print on the envelope we knew it was good news,” said Jack.

The letter was absolutely adorable, to say the least, and was completely written from the perspective of Stevie Ticks herself.

“Dearest Boys, what a treat it was to receive your letter!”, it starts. “I am two years and 4 months old, and I am a Sheprador. I come from Cyprus originally but Chris and Sarah rescued me from a cage in the ‘doggy hotel’. (…)

I love meeting new people and it would be great if we could be friends. I must warn you that the price of my friendship is 5x ball throws a day and belly scratches whenever I demand them. (…)

I’d love to hang out whenever you fancy. Give my servant Chris a Whatsapp and we can arrange a meet up!”

Stevie Ticks and the boys are the best of friends and have already met up multiple times!

You could tell that the whole group really clicked when they met each other for the first time at a local park. Stevie Tick is definitely a very sociable girl who just loves making new friends.

“Stevie has met up with “the boys” twice now. One brief introduction and then she went to play at the local park together. More adventures in the future I’m sure! They got on so well. Stevie is super friendly all the time, and had always loved meeting new folks,” owner Chris said to Bored Panda.

“She’s a 2.5-year-old sheprador,” he added. “Originally from Cyprus. She was hit by a car, had surgery and was then flown to a shelter in the UK where she was swiftly rescued by me and Sarah. She loves playing tug, chasing birds and licking feet.”

In any case, it looks like there are a lot more playdates in the future for Stevie Tick and the boys.

This is only the beginning of an absolutely beautiful friendship.

Owners Chris and Sarah definitely didn’t expect this story to blow up on the internet, and are overwhelmed with the nice words and love they’ve received.

They’ve even set-up an Instagram-account for Stevie Ticks so that everyone can check up on her amazing adventures with her loving owners and these four boys.
