Sip on this lavender lemonade recipe and you'll find headaches become a thing of the past

Lavender can be used in so many different ways and offer so many benefits.

It is a wonderful ingredient to clean with, which is why so many cleaning products contain the flower as well as smell like it.

Lavender can also be used to decrease stress, stabilize your mood, and even treat pain. That all makes sense too, since so many spas and salons offer lavender-scented treatments. The therapeutic scent pretty much puts your mind to rest!

So we can clean with it and we can smell it, but did you know that you can also consume lavender?

Sure, its aroma is totally sedative, but it actually offers more beyond that — it offers benefits on a nutritional level! Lavender is an analgesic agent, which essentially means that the flower contains compounds that act as a painkiller. Of course, it kills pain in a more natural way, as opposed to a drug that was stronger and would completely numb you before eventually wearing off.

What do you do when you have a headache? We’re going to guess: take painkillers! So you can kind of look at lavender as a more natural form of that. It can work as a really great home remedy if you’ve already given everything else a shot and are desperate for some peace.

Lavender is able to reduce anxiety. A study at the University of Florida found that lavender was able to lower the pulse of nursing students that were put into stressful examinations, which is pretty major.

Of course, we can’t promise that lavender will solve all of your health issues, but it is a mood stabilizer that can even offer anti-depressant qualities.

Headaches are often caused by dehydration, inflammation, tension, and stress, and these are all things that lavender has a history of remedying. It can even fix the dehydration, as you consume it with water (as you will see in this tasty recipe).

Lavender essential oil — a highly concentrated solution of the particular herb or ingredient — is a great way to get what you need out of it.

And because it is highly concentrated, a little dose goes a long way. It’s safe to say that with an essential oil, you’re getting a bang for your buck and you’re getting exactly what you need!

So, if this sounds good to you and you want to give lavender a whirl, we have the perfect beverage for you to try.
