Boredom might have hit your household during this global quarantine. But we need to recognize while we’re stuck inside our homes, grocery workers, doctors, and nurses have been working during this whirlwind. Doctors and nurses have been working non-stop with patients who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. The hours they have to work have become more strenuous while wrapped head to toe in protective gear.

Doctors have even posted pictures on social media of the bruises from masks.

Showing the severity of this virus and the intense hours they have to wear this equipment. With all of the fear in our world right now, doctors have wanted to bring calm energy into their workplace. Mask and goggles covering their faces have made everything so impersonal and scary for patients.

So these U.S. doctors have printed pictures of themselves smiling without all of the protective gear.

Although a small gesture this idea has made a huge impact on patient’s experiences and fellow co-workers.

These profile name tags have lightened the air in these very heavy times. It’s incredibly moving to know how dedicated these doctors and nurses truly are. They not only exemplify such courageous efforts, but they also radiate compassion. The efforts to make COVID-19 patients more at ease is so profound.

The idea sparked this respiratory therapist Robertino Rodriquez when he realized how terrifying it must be for these COVID-19 patients.

Already being terrified that they have this fatal virus, they can’t even see any facial expression from their doctors. It is so important for patients to feel connected in some way to the person taking care of them every day.

Face covering personal protective equipment (PPE) makes it impossible for patients to even see a smile.

That is when these marvelous doctors thought of this game-changing idea. This picture was posted by Derek DeVault who wrote,

“Saw this idea on IG and thought it was a beautiful way to bring ease to our patients during this stressful time. Thank you to all the healthcare workers out there for battling on the frontlines. To all those who are staying home, huge shout out to you! I know that is also not easy.”

This outstanding idea has rippled to hospitals all over the United States. Helping to create a more comfortable environment for these COVID-19 patients. As soon as these patients are tested positive for the coronavirus they are not allowed to have any visitors. They are quarantined in a much different way, stuck in a hospital with no family or friends.

The only person they are able to see are their doctors in nurses.

Thankfully there are brave doctors and nurses who care about their patients enough to give them some peace of mind. During these very sensitive times, there are triumphant beams of light. These are stories restore hope for all lives to know with kindness and love we can get through this.
