Heroic 7-year-old boy runs back to their burning home to save his baby sister
A siblingâs love can be one of the most powerful forms of love one can have. Itâs eternal and protective that in times of despair, you know that your sibling will be there by your side. They may not say a word, but they will hold your hand as you go through life.
Your older brother and sister will be there to guide you and teach you. They are the ones who will protect and defend you from bullies. As well as, they are the ones who will set you straight when you went the wrong path.
One particular boy from Tennessee stood out the most due to his heroic and brave act for his sister.
O December 8, the Davidsons were enjoying a typical night in their New Tazewell home. Everything was normal for the Davidsons. They had a hearty meal with their children before tucking them into bed. By 8:30pm Nicole and Chrisâs family were all asleep.
It was supposed to be a quiet and peaceful evening, but it took a turn for the worst.
At 11:30 pm, Nicole woke up to the smell of smoke in their house. Alarmed she quickly got up and found their home on fire. Waking her family, she ran to her children while Chris grabbed the fire extinguisher.
Nicole and Chris were both former firefighters, so they were quick to respond in this scary situation.
Nicole went to Eli and their two-year-old Elijah because they were closest to the fire while Chris used the fire extinguisher to give Nicole enough time to get the kids. However, she did not have time to run to their 22-month-old child named Erin.
By this time, the smoke and fire were so thick that it was impossible to reach their daughter from inside their home. So, they went outside and look for a way to reach their daughterâs bedroom.
Chris tried to look for a way to retrieve Erin but there was nothing for him to stand on to reach up Erinâs window. So, he thought of a way.
Quickly forming a plan, he instructed his son Eli to get the sleeping Erin because he couldnât do so.
So, he lifted the boy to Erinâs bedroom window. Eli bravely grabbed Erin, handed her out the window, and escaped the fire without any scratch.
When asked of his experience, Eli said, âI was scared but I didnât want my sister to die.â
âWe couldnât be more proud of Eli,â Chris said. âHe did something a grown man wouldnât do.â
By the time the firefighters arrived, the home was completely destroyed. At least no one was injured. Authorities are still unsure of what caused the fire but they said it can be because of electrical.
Now, the Davidsons are living at a nearby relative.
They have to start from scratch after losing their jobs because of the pandemic and losing their home. The fire damaged most of their stuff and three cars.
âItâs devastating. We have nothing,â Chris shared. âYou have never been as humble as you are when you donât even have your own underwear to wear.â
Everyone showed their compassion to the family that someone launched a GoFundMe to help the family. Others donated clothes and household items.
When Eliâs heroic deed was broadcasted online, Nicole was truly grateful for the outpour of love and support.
âI still donât think at his age he grasps what he has done and how phenomenal that is,â the proud mom said.
Thanks to the Davidsons bravery and quick-thinking, everyone was saved from the catastrophic fire.
