Dogs are undoubtedly one of the most loyal and heroic pets you can have. Time after time, they have shown to us their bravery and loyalty in the face of danger. In fact, there are multiple accounts of dogs saving their owner’s life from drowning, battle, and robbery.

No wonder dogs and humans have a close and tight-knit relationship.

They would always jump and save their owners despite the danger ahead. Humorist Josh Billing even said, “a dog is the only thing on Earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Truly, dogs are brave animals who will save you during difficult times.

One dog came to the rescue when his human’s baby was in danger.

Bryan and Alicia Holloway are a loving Tennessee couple who has an 18-month-old toddler named Bryson. Like any toddler, Bryson was an energetic and playful kid. He loves the outdoors and would often wander around curiously learning about his environment.

Of course, Shiloh, the family’s bright Australian Shepherd dog was always with Bryson.

Bryson and Shiloh have a close bond. Shiloh would always guard Bryson and he was always gentle with the toddler. They were really good with each other since Shiloh acts like an older sibling for Bryson.

It wasn’t in Shiloh’s nature to aggressively play or hurt Bryson.

That’s why the couple was shocked when they saw Shiloh lunge at Bryson.

They immediately went outside the yard to check up on their son. Panicked and confused, they didn’t know why Shiloh attacked their son, but upon checking they saw that it was for a good purpose. At the end of the day, dog’s natural instinct to protect their humans overcame Shiloh.

At the foot of Bryson’s foot was a huge Copperhead snake and Shiloh jumped in the face of danger to protect the toddler.

Copperhead snakes are venomous snakes that are found in the southern and eastern United States. They can live both in a developed and undeveloped area, hence, they can easily slither inside homes. Luckily, their venom is not as potent as other snakes, but it can still leave kids, the elderly, and immunocompromised people at risk.

To save Bryson from the snake, Shiloh used his tiny body to defend the toddler.

He barked and wrestled with the snake. Eventually, the snake escaped the yard and Bryson was safe. The couple was thankful for the heroic dog.

However, Shiloh did not go unscraped with the encounter.

He was bitten by the venomous snake and he collapsed on the ground. The couple immediately rushed their brave dog to the hospital where he was given antibiotics and antihistamines.

The medicine saved his life, but his body was swollen for a few weeks.

Today, Shiloh is happily recovering from the dangerous encounter. The couple is extremely thankful for their heroic dog. If Shiloh did not attack the snake then their baby boy might have been the one they rushed to the hospital.

Thankfully, they have a loyal and fearsome dog who came to the rescue!
