There's a big cat in this picture and it's driving people nuts because they can't find it

Have you ever driven yourself mad trying to find Waldo? Or, maybe even just trying to find the sixth damn squirrel in the God-forsaken “Can you spot them?” posters at the Vet’s office? Yeah, us too.

Know what will drive you even crazier? Trying to spot the wildcat that’s expertly hidden in this photo.

It can be all too easy even for large animals to be hiding right in front of our noses, and this is probably a good thing. Their elusiveness protects them from would-be hunters and other natural predators and lets us live in bliss when we go for a nature-stroll.

Still, it’s good to know how to spot wildlife in their habitat just so you can steer clear if nothing else.

Saurabh Desai is a photographer who has laid the ultimate challenge down for wildlife viewers.

The picture above, believe it or not, features a Snow Leopard cleverly hidden right before our very eyes. Not in the margins or shadowy places, but out in the open.

Desai fittingly named the photograph “The Art of Camouflage”, as he had been searching for the big cat for nearly three full years. Living high up in the Himalayas, local people have a different and perhaps more suitable name for these crafty cats; the Grey Ghosts.

I was on my search of the world’s most illusive cat, which is also known as ‘Grey Ghost’ in the popular local language. I spent almost 3 years in search of this amazing cat, and when I found it up and close to me, I was speechless,” Desai explains in an interview with My Modern Met.

Have you scoped out the ghostly wildcat yet? Here’s a closer look…

In local speak, the Grey Ghost is known as “Shan”. The wildcat earned his name for being nearly invisible even to the Himalayan mountain dwellers that call the craggy cliffs and snowy terrain home.

When he went out in search of the elusive mountain cat, it was to capture him in the very element that helped him earn his name.

I wanted this animal to be captured the way people have described it. They say that often they don’t see the ‘Shan’ but ‘Shan’ always sees them,” the photographer explained to The Dodo.

Just in case you STILL can’t spot him, here you go…

Now you can finally see him, right???

Once you spot the Snow Leopard stealthily making his way down the snowy crag, you can’t unsee it…or maybe you can.

Being the incredibly talented explorer and photographer that he is, Saurabh Desai has managed to capture the evasive beauty of this snowy beast before. Just not in such a majestically mysterious manner.

In fact, what makes the viral nature of this photo so ironic is that people are obsessed with that which they can’t see in the picture…until, of course, they finally do.

The photograph calls people to interact with it in a way that gives them the excitement of spotting the wildcat without any of the danger.
