Beloved grandma with dark sense of humor distributes hilariously bizarre gift at her funeral

Funeral services are always depressing and gloomy affairs, but one grandmother found the most original method to make the occasion more cheery.

Jo Marie Perryman, who passed away on October 12 at the age of 81 in Breckenridge, Texas, left everyone in stitches after revealing her final gift to the family at her funeral service.

And it left everyone in total awe.

While gag gifts are quite popular for birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions, Jo Marie Perryman had a very unique idea.

The hilarious gift was shared on Twitter by her granddaughter Gracie Perryman, who quickly made the internet crack up.

It was the wittiest thing!

An Ouija board with a witty note was the strange present Jo Marie planned to offer attendees at her burial.

A picture of the little Ouija board that is adhered to one side of a card can be seen in Gracie’s post. Her grandmother’s funny message, “Let’s keep in touch,” is on the opposite side.

The gift singlehandedly showed her funny personality.

She did it as a sly way of showing the mourners at her burial that she wasn’t really that far away. A photo of Jo Marie sticking her tongue out and giving the finger was included with the present.

“Received this at my grandma’s funeral,” Gracie wrote next to the picture. “What an icon.”

She even announced it.

On Facebook, Jo Marie announced in August that “everyone will be gifted their very own Ouija board” during her burial.

Grace was shocked when her grandma kept her pledge despite the announcement. She remembered unwrapping the present during the burial and wondering, “What on Earth is this?” A sudden burst of laughter filled the room as another 30 to 40 individuals began to open their gifts.

Her gift really lightened up the mood.

A flat board with the alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words “yes” or “no,” and other symbols and pictures is called an Ouija board, sometimes known as a spirit board or talking board.

By manipulating a planchette to spell out messages during a séance, people are reportedly able to speak with the dead.

It’s creepy and funny at the same time!

This was an unexpected yet really funny present to get at a funeral. Jo Marie’s own obituary served as evidence of her sense of humor.

“She had a quick wit and a clever sense of humor, which kept everyone who knew her on their toes,” it said. “It was rare to win a battle of wits with her.”

Jo Marie was a kind and caring person who cherished spending time with her family. She loved reading Dean Koontz and Stephen King books, sewing and crafting.

She was well known for her chicken burritos, fried chicken, enchiladas, and Christmas treats. She also adored video games and was even capable of defeating her kids at them. She lived a beautiful life and even somehow made her exit a great one to remember.

The cherished grandma leaves behind three children, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and other loved ones who are already missing her so deeply.
