Homeless pregnant pitbull rushes over to strangers and pleads for help
Pit bulls are a very misunderstood breed. The stigma that surrounds them means that they often need extra help from rescue organizations.
Thankfully, there are dedicated people out there working to help these wonderful dogs.
When Hope for Paws received a call about a pregnant and homeless pit bull in distress, JoAnn Wiltz and Katie McKittrick wasted no time heading out to help.
Hope for Paws meet Waffles
A concerned citizen called the rescue organization and said they found the pregnant pit bull in a field by their house.
The girl ran up to JoAnn and Katie right away as soon as they arrived.
She seemed to realize they were there to help.
JoAnn and Katie decided to name her Waffles.
Waffles was alone, cold, and hungry, but also very trusting of the people she just met.
Something must have told her that these people had arrived to provide her with assistance.
How did Waffles know she could trust Hope for Paws?
Perhaps Waffles had previous encounters with humans that led her to believe she could trust them.
Still, the way she hopped into their vehicle with no hesitation was simply amazing. How did she know?
Waffles’ instincts were right. The women were there to help her and her soon-to-be-born puppies.
Waffles has her litter
It was clear that Waffles was very late in her pregnancy and would give birth soon.
JoAnn decided to take Waffles home with her so she’d have a comfortable place to welcome her babies into the world.
Only a few hours later, Waffles would begin to give birth to her puppies.
She must have been so thankful that the wonderful people from Hope for Paws came to her rescue.
The puppies are given names
Her puppies were given other breakfast-themed names including Pancakes, Sausage, and Beignet, the latter being a delicious type of breakfast doughnut.
The three other puppies were named Doughnut, Hashbrown, and Croissant.
Witnessing the sweet way Waffles cares for her babies will warm up anyone’s day, much like a hot breakfast often does.
Thanks to Hope for Paws, Waffles did not have to give birth in the dirt
Had a kind-hearted neighbor not called Hope for Paws, had people not donated to the rescue organization, and if there weren’t good people associated with it, things could have turned out much different for Waffles and her puppies.
That’s why it’s important for animal lovers to donate to local rescue organizations.
They need your support to give dogs like Waffles and her puppies a chance.
Waffles nurses her beautiful puppies
Waffles is a natural mother. The beautiful way she nurses her babies shows she cares for them more than anything else in the world.
JoAnn and Katie must be very proud of the help they provided to this wonderful pit bull family.
