In an ideal world, children need to grow in a loving and nurturing environment.

They would all have a family who would be there to answer their every need. However, this isn’t an ideal world, and hundreds and thousands of children are waiting to be adopted. They are often in foster homes or shelters, waiting to find their forever homes.

But not all of them get reunited with their families or adopted.

Some of them grow out of the foster care system. It’s heartbreaking to know that a significant percentage of children in foster care didn’t get a chance to have a family. Most of the time, having a family or loving home is their only wish.

Seth Miller went through a difficult life since he was a little boy.

He was only a toddler when he was put up for adoption, and since then, he has only wished to have a family. He went through a painful failed adoption and was sent from one foster home to another. They all end up being in unhappy homes where Seth doesn’t find a connection and can’t feel the love of a family.

When he came of age, he was no longer qualified to be under foster care.

Seth lived alone in his car, homeless, and without a family. He described his day-to-day life as “empty, alone, and nowhere to fit in.” He felt nothing was going on in his life without anything special to look forward to.

It wasn’t until his court-appointed special advocate discovered what could change his life forever.

They found Robert and Ara Hunt – a couple who adopted Seth’s biological sister named Shyann. They were hesitant to meet Seth but finally decided to make a bold move of arranging things for him to meet his sister.

The two met in what seemed to be a very emotional reunion.

The siblings hugged and cried – probably a product of years apart. Robert and Ara invited Seth to live with them even if the couple already had a large family. They felt it was the right thing to do, especially for Seth and Shyann.

A year later, the couple adopted Seth.

They went to Collin Country courtroom with their family, friends, and lawyers who helped them made this possible. It was finally official! Seth was now part of the Hunt family by law.

Seth also changed his name to Logan Hunt.

The change of name also marked a new beginning for him. Logan told USA Today:

“It feels awesome… like I’m at peace.”

Indeed, at peace was the way to describe it. He would never have imagined that he would be reunited with his sister. That reunion paved the way for him to fulfill his lifelong dream – to have a family.

Now he has a loving family to call his own.

Though their transition was a bit challenging, living with them came naturally when they finally learned how to communicate with each other. Robert even told the judge presiding in the courtroom that when they first interviewed Logan, they already knew he was part of their family.
