Homeowner moves into teeny $35K house on her own property to help reach financial freedom

The pandemic affected everyone’s source of income; even a consultant like Precious Price had to rethink her finances.

She lived in a 3-bedroom home but barely stayed there since her work required her to travel a lot.

Precious would sometimes rent it to people temporarily to generate income.

However, she couldn’t travel or rent her place when the pandemic hit.

That’s when she considered utilizing the property behind her primary home and the shed that came with it.

There was a 12×24-foot shed in her backyard, and she considered converting it into a tiny home.

She spent over $35,000 to convert or renovate the home. She then decided to live in the tiny house while renting out her primary home – short-term or long-term.

That way, she generated income while shelling out money to build her tiny home.

Precious calls this home The Cove Escape.

It may be small, but this cozy shed conversion has everything you need.

As you enter the living space, you will see a couch big enough for a bed.

This is best for quick naps or if a guest is coming in.

There’s a television in front of it and a mini movable table if you want to eat and drink while chilling.

What makes her place more convenient is that her living room sits across from the kitchen.

There’s a small nook or table where you can eat, and it’s next to a full-sized kitchen.

Precious loves cooking, and she would want her renters to feel comfortable cooking their meals, so she equipped her kitchen with a two-door fridge, double-burner induction stovetop, microwave, coffee maker, and even a juicer!

On the right side of the kitchen sink is a beautiful sliding barn door that leads to the bathroom.

She proudly stained the door herself, adding to the house’s character.

It opens to a pristine, white bathroom with a glass door in the shower and a small window, and all these add to the illusion that it is bigger than it is.

When you step out of the bathroom, you’ll see the loft bed across it.

There’s a sliding (library) ladder heading to it. The loft bedroom was made only for sleeping or lying down, and there was only enough space to crouch and crawl to the bed.

If you want a space to read or work, there’s a little nook beside the couch below.

Precious wanted a space where she could comfortably work with a proper table and chair.

It may be a small space than the usual workstation, but it’s an excellent place to stay focused with minimal distractions.

Plus, she accessorized the area to motivate you to work.

The Cove Escape has a separate entrance from the primary unit to give the tenants privacy.

A separate gate and pathway would lead to this beautiful tiny home so the renters in the primary house wouldn’t feel like someone is invading their space.

However, if they want to, they can share the common fireplace in the backyard, where they can chill and share a drink at the end of the day.
