Bentley the horse is fully grown, but he’s a child at heart. And whenever he sees snow, he can’t hide his joy.
When children experience snow for the first time, it’s always magical.
They just want to run outside, build a snowman and have some snowball fights. Of course, for adults, the allure can wear off.
But did you know that some animals also love seeing the snow? This video proves it?
Bentley is an eight-year-old stallion that lives on Windermere Farms in Pennsylvania. He’s a very happy animal. But there’s no denying that winter is his favorite time of year.
Every wintertime, he waits patiently for the first snowfall. Whenever he gets let out on the snow, he absolutely loves it.
Luckily, this year one of the workers of Windermere Farms was able to capture on video the horse’s pure joy at experiencing snow.
When the horse was let loose in the field, he started galloping about the snowy field.
He stopped briefly to admire the snow and then leaped on the spot and twisted all around with delight. If he could have sung, he’d have bellowed out the lyrics to Winter Wonderland right then and there.
Then the horse started scraping away at the snow with one of his hoofs.
Next, he decided to lie down on the ground and roll in the snow. It looked like he was going to try to make a snow angel.
Then a couple of dogs ran up to try to play with Bentley. But the horse was only interested in the snow! He ran deeper into the field.
Still, the dogs persisted in trying to get Bentley’s attention. They tried barking with him. But it became clear that the horse was just too distracted.
The farmers thought that the video was so great that they uploaded it to their Facebook channel.
In no time at all, it went viral. To date, it has gained over 2.3 million views. It also has more than 74,000 reactions, 34,000 shares and 7,200 comments. People have been saying things like this:
Bentley has always been an excitable animal. The first video of the horse dates to 2012, and was recorded when he was just 11 days old.
In that video, Bentley gallops close to his mother. The baby Bentley is clearly really enjoying the exercise and getting to use his legs for running for the first time!
Bentley has come a long way since those early days. In fact, the horse is now a father himself. All of his children have the same fun-loving personality that he has.
And Bentley is also a prize-winning horse. He has, to date, won three national horse championships and also become the Grand Champion Stallion at the Royal Winter Agriculture Fair in Toronto.
Windermere Farms dates back to 1962. At first, the farm was for producing dairy.
However, it soon began to focus on horses. In fact, it is the site of many pioneering horse breeding practices. But by far the best thing about the farm is that it shares all of its great horse videos online!
