Two horses take dance challenge to a whole other level
I’m sure at some point in your life you’ve probably seen a live show involving horses. Maybe at a Rodeo, or a circus, or maybe a local fair. They have been domesticated by humans for a very long time because they are so smart and therefore, more trainable than most animals. They can follow the commands from their trainer to either help in a task or simply to entertain.
The internet brings a lot of surprises these days as people have a lot of time on their hands and apparently, we now have dancing horses!
Inspired by up-and-coming artist Blanco Brown’s song, ‘The Git Up’. Which has made the internet explode with viral dance videos. It combines country music and hip-hop together in a way that is getting people to ‘git up’ and dance. Featuring slide guitar and an up-tempo beat, it sure makes it easy to see why.
This unique combination of genres has really been stirring up the airwaves. Country hip-hop artist Lil NasX released the song ‘Old Town Road’ in 2019. Which spent a record 13 weeks in the number 1 spot on the Billboard Top 100, becoming the first hip-hop song to do so. This new genre mashup won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
Onto the “Git Up” Challenge. This song has been a huge viral sensation. Dance troops, Firefighters, and just about anyone have been creating videos of their routines and sharing them on the internet. So now its time for horses to have their moment too.
I’m not sure just any horse could pull this off but, Rumba the Wonder Horse has nailed it. Dancing in a field with his pal, Rumba moves left and right just like the song’s lyrics say. Sometimes it looks like Rumba is even singing along. Maybe he is! This talented horse keeps in stride with the lyrics. He gets up and he gets down. He even takes a sip from a can when the song calls for “throw down and take a sip with it”.
The horse has obviously been doing some practicing and the trainers should be very proud. I’d imagine it takes a lot of work and time to get this down. The editing should be appreciated as well and shows someone has some spare time on their hands.
The horses know that to really entertain, it’s not just gonna be having the right moves but, the costumes as well. Rumba has on a trucker hat and a pair of pink sunglasses while his pal has a cowboy hat and some star-framed glasses. They have the swagger and the attitude that captives you.
They do a lot of smiling during their performance so they must know they are some cool equines. Every time I see those giant horse teeth, I can’t help but smile too.
Like Ava Reyes commented “This made my day so much better!! Haha I love horses”
Not only do you get to watch some extremely talented horses pull this dance challenge off but, you won’t be able to stop bouncing your head to the beat. Blanco Brown should be proud of this song cause boy is it catchy!
