Owner checks in on horses and finds them quietly snoring and farting in barn

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to sleep amongst animals?

We often think about how “human” animals can get by observing and seeing their similar behaviors.

Oftentimes, we are treated with a lot of hilarious moments because animals with human habits are just so funny.

These horses share something with people.

A ranch owner had a viral video when they showed the world how their horses sleep.

Needless to say, someone can definitely see themselves lounging just like horses do.

The stable is full of sleepy horses.

And you know these horses are enjoying every minute of this nap because echoing through the barn is the constant grinding sound of snoring.

It was like chainsaws and a team of loggers going off all at once.

It’s the kind of snore you make when you had a really long day.

These are not ordinary workhorses.

The horses are owned by Equinisity Retreats, a facility where people go and reconnect with nature with the help of the herd.

According to their website, the purpose of the retreat house is to help and guide people toward their “life path, heart’s desire, and true healing.”

But that’s not the only special thing that these horses are doing.

Equines are known for their ability to sleep while standing.

Horses have a special system of tendons and ligaments that enables their joints to lock in place.

The horses can then doze off without the worry of falling over.

But these horses aren’t standing.

Are they just “resting” their eyes?

Their mode of sleeping is similar to when humans say “I’ll just close my eyes for a bit.”

This behavior and shallow sleep pattern can help horses bolt when predators try and take advantage of their dormancy.

However, horses also need deep sleep.

For this kind of rest, horses usually lie down just like what they’re doing in this video.

This kind of sleep, even if it’s deep, isn’t as long as ours.

It takes about intervals of two to three hours a day of this sleep to help horses become well-rested.

So let’s just say, if the whole herd is here, that the ranch is done for the day.

The ranch also said that through the video, they wanted for people to see how happy and relaxed their horses are.

In fact, they’re so relaxed that some of them are letting out some good methane fun.

Come on, you never farted in bed?

People in the comments were thrilled.

“Funny enough, that is how I sleep,” said one commenter and another claimed that horses are their spirit animal.

Other comments showed how used people are to seeing how horses sleep while standing up, whether in barns or in movies.

This video left them disillusioned.

“They are me when my flatmate is not around,” says another commenter and we can only hope that they are definitely sure they’re doing that only when they’re alone.
