This house for sale looks modest on the outside – but the interior is absolutely wild
Looking at real estate is serious business, but going through the photos of the inside of someone’s home can be an entertaining hobby as well.
Have you ever seen a house that looked perfectly normal on the outside only to find a house of horrors waiting inside?
From atrocious wallpaper and carpeting to interior design that looks like it might be better off in a funhouse, there are some real treasures out there when it comes to spotting the weird houses.
Recently, a Twitter user who goes by the handle @farzierrapproves found a house that went viral for its weirdness.
But the best part was that it looked completely normal on the outside – a little boring even.
I just discovered the greatest house listing of all time. It starts out very unassuming and modest. pic.twitter.com/cCubUFd1k4

But things get weird pretty quickly.
And, in fact, the house has been on the market less than a week despite going viral for its bonkers interior. As of publication, you can still view the “One of a Kind Brick Ranch” on Zillow.
The 3-bedroom Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania home costs a mere $159,900!
But you’ll have to act quickly since it’s already been viewed over 2 MILLION times!
Now, we have to admit they drew us in at the promise of oak beam ceilings, hardwood floors, a fireplace, and especially a ladder to an elevated library, even though early on we’re warned that it’s a lot like walking into “a 13th-century castle.”
That’s not exactly what Pittsburgh real estate shoppers are typically looking for.
Nevertheless, it’s got potential:
They lost us immediately, however, beginning with the third sentence of the home’s description:
“Time Travel at Warp Speed to the 25th Century Starship. A Talking Space Alien greets you as you walk toward the Floor to Ceiling, Outer Space Wall Mural. The Dining Rm Command Center Rear Wall opens up to the Spaceship Main Bridge-Working Computer & Controls from an Apache Helicopter, Speakers & a 55 Inch Screen (TV works).”
We are 100% NOT ok with the mural, for starters:
We also think evicting the space aliens prior to showing the home would have been in the owner’s best interest.
But the real kicker is the dining room “command center.”
It would be pretty cool if it weren’t so…deranged.
Before you mistakenly assume it might be less weird from the other angle, we assure you it is not:
Then again, who doesn’t enjoy eating dinner while laying the groundwork for a planetary invasion?
The old controls from an Apache helicopter make a nice touch even if they’re a bit too “busy” for our taste. But to each their own!
It’s a lot of weirdness for just 1,075 square feet, but we haven’t even seen the bedrooms yet!
But first, let us assure any potential buyers out there that the kitchen is pretty normal (aside from the oven being up on a shelf).
And aside from the chair wearing what looks like a fur coat, the living room has a cool feel to it (or at least the potential to be turned into something useable).
Now, if you were thinking that the bedrooms couldn’t possibly be as bizarre as the dining room and space aliens, you’re in for a treat.
One has a “tropical island” theme and the other is “a 1970 Hippie Crash Pad Bedroom with a Queen Water Bed.”
Hm. We would have expected the water bed in the island bedroom.
Oh yes, you better believe that’s sand on the floor!
We didn’t come all this way for this not to be authentic.
We appreciate the 70s magazines on the bed of room #2 as well – kudos on the staging!
Now, you can view the entire house for yourself, but we want to make sure you see the bathroom.
Can you guess the theme? It’s really the only thing we’re missing at this point.
JUNGLE! Obviously.
With some empty, undecorated space available left in other parts of the house to choose your own adventure, this property really has it all. There’s even a (genuinely lovely) backyard with a pool!
Twitter users recognized it for the amazing deal it is, so you’ll want to get on the phone quickly if a “space jungle beach house” is your dream but you don’t want to put in the work decorating it yourself!
