'Croissant cereal' is the latest breakfast trend and it looks sinfully delicious – here's how to make it
Over these past few months, we’ve seen a whole lot of foods get miniaturised and turned into cereal. We’ve seen pancake cereal, cookie cereal, doughnut cereal – and now, thanks to TikTok, croissant cereal.
Tiny croissant cereal is exactly how it sounds: croissant, just like you know them, but about 10 sizes smaller and placed in a bowl with milk. It’s easy enough to make – just make tiny versions of your bog-standard croissants, though you may want to get inventive with sprinkles, sauces and fillings to make the recipe your own.
There’s something about this recipe that we adore. What is it about tiny food that’s so cute? And though we’ve never been too fussed about croissants before, naturally, we have to make them for ourselves now they’ve been miniaturised.
We’re going to share a simple recipe for tiny croissant cereal with you, but first, let’s show you what you’re missing out on with the infamous TikTok video:
@wijayaachristinebutter croissant cereal!! cereal edition pt. 2 ##samasamadirumah ##semangatpuasa ##beranda ##croissant ##cereal ##fyp ##foryoupage ##tiktok♬ homage – lovdaudios
The video was posted by a TikTok user under the name of @wijayaachristine, and her idea has taken the internet by a storm. With nearly 60K likes and 815 comments, the recipe has proved to be yet another miniature cereal success.
Now, onto the recipe!
What you’ll need:
- Pre-made croissant dough (come on guys, it’s just quicker)
- Oven tray
- Baking paper
- Toppings/filling of your choice
- Milk (to enjoy with your cereal later)
What to do
1. Grab your pre-made croissant dough. Make sure to give it plenty of time to defrost if it’s frozen. Roll it out flat onto your kitchen countertop.
2. Set your oven to 400 degrees F (220 degrees C).
3. Cut your croissants as you usually would, but much, much smaller. If you’re going all-out and adding fillings, now’s your time to do so. Just remember to add only the tiniest blob of filling, or you’ll probably end up with a messy situation on your hands!
4. Roll your croissants to create the croissant shape. If that makes no sense to you, go back and watch the TikTok video.
5. Line a baking tray with baking paper and lay your croissants out on it. Then put the tray in the oven and cook for 10 minutes, until crispy and golden. Note: you may want to keep an eye on your croissants as they bake, considering how small they are. You might find that 5 minutes is more than enough baking time, and if that’s the case, whip them out before they burn.
6. Take your croissants out of the oven and enjoy them straight away in a bowl of milk.
And that’s it – job done! You can choose to add your own toppings at this point, like strawberries, raisins, shredded coconut, cinnamon, or something a bit naughtier, like Nutella. The world’s your oyster – get creative with your favorite flavors, and you might just create a new trend in itself.

You might have never enjoyed warm croissants in a bowl of milk before, but we promise you, this one’s a game-changer. Don’t knock it until you try it. We can’t guarantee you won’t become obsessed with this new trend, though, so prepare to spend a lot of money on pre-made croissant dough going forward. No regrets on our end.
