Two embarrassed husbands refuse to answer Family Feud “bedroom question” about their wives

The question includes the words “wife,” “describe” and “bed.” Can you see why this would be hard to answer on TV?

We all know that husbands would never dare to insult their wives.

Why would anyone ever want to make fun of the person they love?

Just kidding. Let’s face it, the often strained relationships between men and women have fueled so much comedy.

Just think of the friction that crops up between Homer and Marge, Lucy and Ricky and even Superman and Lois Lane!

So when two husbands walked up to the podium on Family Feud and got asked about their wives in bed, what do you think happened next?

Steve Harvey began the round by asking the husbands, “We asked 100 married men, ‘Which of the seven dwarfs describes your wife in bed?'”

Usually, the participants race to press their buzzers as fast as possible. But this time, the two men looked at one another, with expressions that said, “We’re in deep, deep trouble now.”

In case you need a reminder, the seven dwarfs are Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy and Dopey.

Of course, most men wouldn’t answer with, “Doc.”

The men on the show kept on shaking their heads and kept on looking at one another. Neither wanted to go first.

Steve Harvey frowned. He knew exactly what these two guys were going through.

He was just determined not to get caught in the crossfire. After all, he has a wife too!

Eventually, the man on the right hit his buzzer. Would the awkwardness of the moment finally end? No.

He began his statement with a disclaimer, which you don’t often see on Family Feud. “This is just to get up on the board, Bashful?”

And luckily, that answer got results.

It turns out that Bashful was the third most common reply. Eight of the 100 participants gave that answer.

Just for some extra context, Bashful’s personality is shy, kind-hearted and cute. That’s a pretty safe answer!

The question then went to the other contestant. But he hesitated for so long that he got buzzed out.

Did you even realize that that could happen on the show?

So the question went to the family on the right. Three of the four other participants in that family were women. And if anything, they looked keen to answer.

A clip of this moment appeared on YouTube. Sadly, it cut out there. If you want to know the other answers, you’ll have to access the Family Feud archive or something.

Unsurprisingly, this clip soon went viral.

To date, it has gained over 19.4 million views. It also has more than 85,000 likes and 7,600 comments. People have been saying things like this:

The one guy in the comments makes a good point. You can just say Happy!

Sure, sex is naturally an awkward subject, especially when you’re talking about it on TV. But what wife would be upset with her husband describing her as happy in bed?

And of course, there’s also the potential to stretch the definition of the question.

Describing your wife in bed doesn’t necessarily have to refer to sex. Couldn’t it just be a location? In that case, surely sleepy is an appropriate answer too. After all, we spend more time sleeping in bed than anything else. Well, most of us anyway.
