Husky walks into shelter to pick a best friend and decides to adopt a tiny kitten

Aren’t adoption stories the best? It’s all about the people who fall in love with animals in need of a loving new home, and their future finally looking brighter again. This adoption story might be a little bit different, but that makes it even sweeter. This time, it wasn’t a human who fell in love with a sheltered four-footer, it was a canine.

Seeing a Husky enter a shelter to adopt a friend is definitely something you don’t see every day!

The Tamaskan Husky who listens to the name ‘Little Raven’ is an absolutely affectionate, energetic, and adorable furball! There is nothing that his owner Christina wouldn’t do for him, and she figured that he could actually use some company for the times that she wasn’t there. Of course, she gives him plenty of tender loving care, but she thought that having a companion around him would be a really good idea, especially after she started noticing that Little Raven felt a bit lonely once in a while.

That’s why Christina flirted with the idea to welcome another four-footer into the home, but the decision was ultimately Raven’s.

She decided to check with a local shelter and bring Little Raven along for a visit, just to see if they could find a potential furry friend for her pooch. At a local shelter in Lubbock, Texas, her pup then fell in love with other four-footer, a tiny and incredibly cute kitten.

“I had always believed that a dog and a cat could grow up together and one of my life’s goals is to be a witness to this is coming true,” Christina said to The Dodo.

Little Raven actually met a lot of kittens before he actually found “the one”.

The shelter introduced Little Raven to four kittens, but he didn’t like three of them, and it seemed pretty mutual. However, there was one tiny four-footer than managed to capture his heart and vice versa. You could just tell that there was major chemistry between these two, and they were always elated to spend time together.

From that moment, everybody knew: this kitten and this pooch belonged together.

Mom Christina signed the papers, and the kitten known as Woodhouse was welcomed to the family.

These two best friends were together all the time now!

It’s been over a year since Woodhouse was adopted, and their bond has only grown stronger. Wherever Raven is, chances are you’ll find Woodhouse over there as well. They just love hanging around together, and even eat, sleep, and bathe together!

And while living at home definitely is anything but boring for these two, they also love to join their human family on road trips and vacations.

For some people, it’s still a bit weird to see how a cat and a dog – two quite different species – can get along so, so well. And while Woodhouse and Little Raven don’t cuddle as much as they used to when they were still smaller, this adorable Husky and cat duo remains absolutely inseparable.

“They are perfect with each other. They don’t cuddle as much as they used to when they were a puppy and kitten. But they’re still always together, always bonded together, like best friends forever,” Christina concluded.
