A glorious moment

When Vanessa & Morgan glided out onto the ice, waving and smiling at the audience, everyone watching expected a standard, impressive performance. But none of us were ready for the powerful performance that was about to take place. The athletic duo were both dressed up in sleek black outfits that matched the moody and daunting song by Disturbed.

They took their stance on the ice, allowed their heads to bow forward slightly, and then the song began to play. The song began gently, and right away they began to dance on the ice as it played, coming together to commence their unforgettable performance.

Could it be a love story?

Although technical execution is most certainly an important aspect of amazing skating performances, it’s not the only thing people pay attention to. Sometimes the chemistry between a pair, the subtle expressions on their faces as they perform, lend to the beauty of the performance. When a skating pair does well together, you can usually see the genuine joy on their faces when they make eye contact as they move across the ice in sync.

In fact, it’s one of the most frequent comments that the pair gets:

Extreme skill and difficulty

Morgan swung Vanessa so close to the ice in one of their phenomenal choreographed moves during the performance, and she proved her complete trust in him by flying gracefully throughout the moment. Clearly, the pair had been practicing for perfection, and they achieved it!

In fact, the duo has been skating together for a while now, dating back to 2010. Vanessa recalled their early days skating together.

“I remember our 3-day trial and it was so fun. He was so funny, because he had never done pairs before, so he was really nervous and saying ‘oh my gosh, oh my gosh’ every time he threw me. I knew that we were going to be good friends.”
