If you’ve ever been arrested you know how unbearable the ride to the station can be. Even if you haven’t been arrested, we can all probably imagine how the scenario would feel. You’d probably be a bit embarrassed and maybe scared for your legal future. But what if the cop driving the car was a comedian?

This cop turns comedy into copmedy.

Yeah, Mike the Cop is not the typical stoic and gruff cop you might be imagining. He’s actually found a way to make driving a cop car the stuff of great jokes. He has a whole YouTube channel about his life while wearing the badge. Simply put, he’s a guy who loves his job who wants to show a side of the job that most people don’t get to see.

In this video, he plays on some old stereotypes about pilots.

I mean, have you ever ridden a plane and had absolutely no idea what the pilots were saying about weather conditions, ETA, or turbulence? It’s a common complaint, but one that most of us have just learned to laugh along with. It’s almost just part of the flying experience.

So Mike decided to refresh that old joke by playing the part – from his cop car.

He uses technology from his police microphone to alter his voice to the crunchy distortion that you often hear from pilots and then films the reaction of whoever’s in the back.

Mike’s got some good jokes.

“Thank you for choosing our jurisdiction for an arrest. We know you had your choice of city.”

“This is your cop captain speaking. Hope you’re settling in okay and enjoying a reduced amount of legroom compared to your normal modes of travel.”

He films himself in the aftermath of multiple arrests, so you can see how his bit is different each time.

It left us wondering how the people in the back seat feel about all this.

From the look on their faces, they definitely don’t seem like they like it. In the video, you can see their reactions. Some look angry, some look embarrassed, and some look annoyed. It must be confusing to go from being apprehended to becoming part of a practical joke!

But it’s hilarious for everyone watching.

This video has garnered more than 3.5 million views and 135 thousand likes! Since pretty much everyone has flown with a pilot who doesn’t annunciate their words, loads of people can relate and find this hilarious.

Mike does a great job at sounding like a pilot, I wonder what other impressions he can do?

When Mike does his pilot impression, it really does sound like the real deal. He even uses classic flight language like “enjoy the ride” and “frequent flyer”. The man must have spent a lot of time practicing to get this good!

Although it must not feel great to be arrested, at least you get to hear good jokes instead of bad jokes, or worse — no jokes at all.
