Iguana adorably races to owner like a dog when he calls out “Come here, buddy!

No one is as happy to see us when we get home as our pets. No matter how rough our day was, whether the boss wasn’t delighted with our work or whether we got into a spat with a friend, our pets will always greet us with excitement and love.

The dynamic bond we share with animals (and the compassion they show us back!) has gifted us with many benefits.

Our pets’ excitement is a feeling that removes all stress.

The feeling of coming home knowing your dog is there to greet you is amazing.

We have seen countless hours of excited dogs welcoming their owners – but this video is special.

You can’t say you’ve seen everything. Not until you see this.

This Lizard welcomes his human back home with pure joy.

That is one giant lizard! It’s okay, he doesn’t bite (beware of kisses though).

This friendly giant greets his owner every time he comes back from work, just as excitedly as a dog. Lizards and other reptiles as pets might seem rare, but they’re more common than we think.

Reptiles are among the most popular pets.

Reptiles are exotic pets, and a lot of people love them. In fact, they are among one of the most highly adopted animals.

Reptiles are particularly popular with millennials, who own half of the pet reptiles.

Cats and dogs are known to have incredible bonds with their owners – but other pets, such as reptiles, are no different.

And the bond between this pet lizard and his owner is too cute for words.

The owner arrives home every day knowing that someone is going to be very happy the moment they see him.

He was just as excited as the lizard and you could feel it when he said, “Come here, buddy”.

In the beginning, all you see is a backyard. You wouldn’t guess there is a giant lizard that lives there. Then the owner makes sounds hinting that he is home.

“Ain’t you going to come and see me?” he asks.

And there she comes.

The giant lizard comes to Dad for some pats and rubs. The owner then asks the lizard if he is hungry.

That beautiful smile tells how bonded the owner and his pet lizard are. But there is more to this story.

The Lizard is actually a Cayman Brac iguana. Iguanas are one of the smartest types of reptiles and can be trained like a dog.

You can even toilet train them!

Dave Durham is the owner and he’s been working with reptiles for over 50 years.

In his YouTube description, Dave writes about him and what he does:

“This is not a reptile forum. This is just to show people that lizards learn and can even do tricks just like a dog would. I have even been able to train them to do an ‘obstacle’ course made for one of my Cayman Brac rock iguanas, the smartest reptile species I have ever trained.”

Dave Durham further adds:

“I am one of the first successful people to breed Blackthroat Monitors, Green iguanas, and Cayman Brac rock iguanas. I have worked with Mark Bayless on habitat and breeding techniques.”

Dave has been very successful in nurturing his bond with these giant reptiles.

He’s even managed to train iguana to do obstacle courses.
