Ikea is selling tiny houses & the most incredible part is no setup or construction is required

Over the last couple of years, downsizing seems to have become a trend. It’s getting more and more popular, and people are all the more considering downsizing.

But, what are the benefits of going tiny?

Well, first of all, the smaller the house the less costly your life will be eventually. Smaller spaces mean cheaper property, lower bills, and less upkeep.

Moreover, tiny homes are often future-proof. No need to worry about going up and down the stairs as you get older, because tiny living simply does not involve them!

And, while it sounds like a great idea, there are a few things you might need to consider before deciding to downsize.

First of all, you need to make sure where you are going to put your tiny house. You see, you have to make sure you are allowed to have a tiny home in your backyard- if that’s where you’re putting it- and, if so, if you’re allowed to put electricity and if your plumbing allows for a second property.

Then, how about property taxes? Before going ahead and buying a tiny house, you should look into that, as well as how it is going to increase your insurance.

And what about buying a piece of land where you can put your new home? Although this option does sound tempting, you’ll need to be careful about where you are going to buy because some locations only allow for properties that are larger than 600 square feet.

As for Internet service? Did you even know that in some rural areas you can’t have internet access? And this is another thing you should have in mind before moving.

Now, supposing you have solved all the other problems, you need to find the place you will move into. The tiny home that will host you for the next few years, right?

Ikea, the company that is known for its amazing ideas when it comes to innovative furniture, furnishings, and storage solutions, now has something to suggest for those who decide to live tiny, too.

Partnering up with Escape, the company that “for the past 25 years [has] been designing and building award-winning Tiny homes”, Ikea has been able to design and sell no-assembly-required 187sq ft homes.

Although the homes for sale are a bit controversial, they are still beautiful and practical.

They are controversial because they come on wheels, which for some people means they are trailers rather than homes.

However, this very feature makes them handy because you can take them with you if you ever decide to move. No moving out of a house and into a new one, which is great if you just try to count the number of boxes you’d have to fill, carry, and unbox otherwise.
