Lady shares images of cats with “human-like” faces and the internet loses it
So… there’s nothing wrong with a felinologist breeding cats and caring for them. Also, there’s nothing wrong with a cat that has human characteristics on its face- it could be a coincidence? Or a random facial bone structure that resulted in it.
But when all cats on an Instagram account have human-like faces, well, it kind of gets creepy.
Tatiana Rastorgueva is a Russian felinologist.
She is also an animal lover who specifically breeds Maine Coons, and she is convinced this is her calling.
“I really love animals,” she said. “Cats have always been a part of my life, but I began to professionally breed cats in 2002, I have been working directly with Maine Coons since 2004. I like what I do, I can say that cats are my calling.”
And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that!
A couple of years ago, Tatiana shared a video of one of her cats.
Valkyrie, only 2-months-old at the time, had something very special about her. She looked like an old man.
The Internet went crazy about that, with numerous videos and articles dedicated to the unusual cat.
People were trying to explain why she looks so human, and they assumed it was the facial bone structure, the “doubtful eyes or strained expression”, the round cheeks, or maybe even the prominent beard.
Now, some years later, going back to Tatiana’s account, one can realize that all of her cats kind of look like humans.
Seriously, they look as if they have been photoshopped, but it is clear they haven’t.
Apparently, some of the cats are the offspring of daddy-cat Vatican and mama-cat, Lucien.
One of the two, or even both, must have some of these characteristics that, when combined, result in this creepy yet interesting phenomenon.
By taking a look at Rastorgueva’s Instagram account, one can tell that she has a preference for grey cats.
Maine Coons actually come in many different colors, from brown tabby to calico. They are also very well known for their distinct size- 9 to 18 pounds- and their shaggy, beautiful coats.
Maine Coon cats first became known in mid 19th century and they are native New Englanders.
They are good-natured, patient cats, playful and often prone to silly behavior. They are sure to bring joy to anyone who decides to adopt them.
Still, we’re wondering if all of these characteristics and the fact that they are super cute can make up for the fact that some look oddly like humans.
Really, who would not be scared if they woke up at night and had their cat looking at them with this human-like, always judgemental face?
But, then again, if you look closely at them, you realize that they’re just cats- beautiful, big cats, that can’t wait to be your forever furbaby and your best friend.
Don’t let their looks fool you- they’re babies at heart!
Now that we’re used to this human-like thing, we are curious to see what the new kittens Tatiana intends to breed will look like!
