After all, these have always been quite expensive, and you need your future wife to like it.

This is why people spend a lot of time saving up money and picking out a ring.

Of course, even in this situation, you can fall into a horrible scenario. There are always bad people who will offer some good deals only to steal your money.

This was the case of John Holden, a man in Houston who went through this unspeakable hell.

His story started with one mistake: He decided to pay upfront without taking the ring with him. He thought that the price was good enough to make this move.

Holden was looking for engagement rings, but each one he found was expensive. It all changed when he found a gorgeous ring at the ALKU Modern Jewelers at La Centerra in Katy, Texas.

He thought that it was the perfect opportunity to buy the best ring for his girlfriend.

And all of this at a price he thought he would never find.

As you can imagine, this was so good for Holden that he didn’t care that he couldn’t take the ring.

In fact, he had the chance of preparing the way of proposing to his girlfriend, so he wrote a check. The store told him that they would give him the ring in two weeks. He was excited and anxious for the moment to come.

When the two weeks ended, Holden was a happy and anxious man. He thought that everything was turning well for him and that the important moment finally came.

While the store didn’t call him to confirm that the ring was ready, he didn’t feel nervous when a couple of days passed.

Everything changed when two weeks and a half passed. At that moment, he knew something was wrong, and the idea of being scammed started to sink in.

Holden started to call the store and send some text messages, asking what was wrong. As you can imagine, the store never answered his calls and never responded to his text messages.

He knew he was starting to fall into a living hell. He paid a good amount of money to buy this ring and the store robbed him.

One day, Holden decided to visit the store in person. He was willing to do whatever it takes to get his ring or get his money back. It was his right as a client, considering that he already paid for it.

But far from finding anything helpful, all he noticed was that the store’s lights were off.

In fact, he saw something that confirmed his worst fears: that the store was closed for good.

There was even a note that the building was locked since the tenant didn’t pay the rent.

The note pointed out that the owner’s name was Santiago Mora.

That’s when Holden decided to speak with network KHOU11 to explain his case.

With their help, Holden discovered that he wasn’t the only client who the store robbed.

Authorities reached Mora, so he had to use his lawyer.

“[He was] wrongfully locked out of his business and has every intention of fulfilling his obligations to his customers,” Mora’s lawyer told KHOU11. He didn’t say whether the customers would receive their money back or not.

Holden didn’t know what to do. He lost his money without knowing if he would get it back. He didn’t have the ring that he was going to offer to his girlfriend to marry her…
