Grease is such a famous and relatable movie musical.
You may not even be alive when the movie hit the theatres, but you may have watched the movie once in your lifetime. If not, you may have heard of the stars who were cast in the musical. One of them was John Travolta.
John Travolta is a dedicated and talented actor who landed several roles after Grease. He was able to play different characters in âPulp Fictionâ, âHairsprayâ, Disneyâs âBoltâ, âSheâs So Lovelyâ, and many more. But a lot of people still see him as high school jock Danny Zuko.
That’s why when Grease celebrated its 40th anniversary, John Travolta made a guest appearance in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
During the interview, Travolta talked about the movie’s 40th anniversary. Audiences and viewers alike were hoping for a performance. May it be brief, they will surely love it.
Luckily, Travolta has a surprise.
Fallon, like any person in the room, was shocked and honored to have Travolta appear on his show. He was starstruck! He went on to discuss the musical and commented that even his 12-year old niece knows the movie’s musical hits.
Travolta was flattered by the story. They went on to discuss his other movies with his co-star Olivia Newton-John, as well as the dance they did at the end of Grease.
The audience is teetering in their seats for what’s coming next.
They went on to discuss the move called the four corners which is a super simple yet fun dance move.
âI grew up with all these kinds of novelty dances. So, in Grease, they needed a step for that âYouâre the One That I Wantâ at the end. So I said, “Well, we used to do the four corners. Why donât we do that?’â Travolta said in the interview.
It was the opportunity that everyone was waiting for and Fallon took the cue.
“Can you show it to me?” Fallon asked.
Thanks to the encouragement from the audience, Travolta happily stood up and prepared to dance.
The song “You’re the One that I Want” starts to play and Travolta started moving his hips and legs in the typical four corners move. Fallon easily caught up and eventually they were both dancing to the joy of many people.
Travolta had such a good time that he continued to dance when Fallon tells the crown to give it up for John Travolta.
