Jonah Hill adopts new dog Fig – gives heartfelt thanks to rescue that made it happen

Hollywood’s Jonah Hill recently adopted a new member into his family. The 37-year-old actor sounds thrilled with his decision and we’re certain his new dog, Fig, is over the moon to have a new forever home.

When Hill decided to add a new member to his pack, he opted to adopt rather than shop. The star of Superbad, 21 Jump Street, and War Dogs adopted a Pit Bull Terrier named Fig.

He found his new pooch at the Love Leo Rescue shelter in Los Angeles.

The media has already spotted Hill around town with Fig. Hill and Fig have been seen going for walks along with a dog trainer in the star’s Los Angeles neighborhood.

Hill took to his social media accounts to thank Love Leo Rescue for the work they do.

‘Thank you so much @loveleorescue you gave me a massive gift and I appreciate you and the work you and your foster parent volunteers do,’ Hill wrote on Instagram.

The actor also shared numerous photos of him with Fig. Below, Fig can be seen adapting rather well to their new surroundings.

Love Leo Rescue also shared some fun shots of Fig.

‘Fig is home! Thank you @jonahhill for choosing to #adoptnotshop. All the cool kids are doing it!!’ the shelter wrote.

‘This beautiful, extra cuddly, three-year-old pit bull was abandoned at a rural shelter during the holiday season. We are so happy she landed with where she did. Clearly it’s a love connection.’

So much work goes into allowing shelters to find new homes for animals in need. Volunteers are needed to help transport and sometimes foster animals. Staff is needed to ensure the animals are cared for and, of course, there need to be good people who choose to save a life rather than support animal breeders.

“Every shelter dog that’s adopted puts the squeeze on breeders (or greeders as we call them). We’re loving this adoption story and are so grateful we could be part of her journey. Happy life!”

Love Leo Rescue is loving all the attention Jonah Hill’s adoption of Fig has been getting in the media as well.

They got in some heavy puns relating to Jonah Hill’s movies in the below post:

We ❤️ it when a #pitbullmakes headlines for all the right reasons.
Supergood! (See how punny we are?)

Jonah Hill’s new pet had been staying with a foster home since being brought to the shelter in December.

The comments section of Hill’s post announcing the adoption is filled with people thrilled for both the actor and Fig.

“Thank You for rescuing!! 🐶🤍⚡️,” wrote actress, Olivia Munn.

“Imagine being a dog, waiting to be adopted and then you’re adopted by Jonah Hill,” wrote a user honeyyfoxx.

Fig probably isn’t aware that he was adopted by a famous Hollywood actor. He likely doesn’t care either. Fig is likely only concerned that his new family loves him very much- and that love is given right back.

You don’t have to be a celebrity to share that bond with a new canine companion, all you have to do is adopt one.

Please SHARE this with your friends and family.
