Christmas is about many different things. But the word Christmas contains a pretty big clue about what started it all. And this video knows that!

Lots of people love Josh Groban’s music. There’s no denying that he has a great voice. And when he sang a cover of the Christmas carol O Holy Night, it sounded amazing.

But one YouTube user set out to make a video that would do the song justice, and the results are astonishing.

The user found some footage from the movie The Nativity Story and started editing it to the Groban song.

The finished video opens with the three wise men walking on camels through the desert, on their way to find Jesus. The piano chords to the song start.

The wise men look up to the star that is guiding them to Jesus. Groban starts singing “Oh holy night, the stars are brightly shining.” And the star shines down onto the ground, showing the men exactly where to go.

The scene cuts to Mary in labor, determined to bring Jesus into the world.

Then Joseph raises Jesus into the air as Groban sings “It is the night of our dear Savior’s birth.”

Joseph and Mary then carefully put Jesus into the manger as Groban sings “Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother.”

The shepherds then walk up to the family and look at Jesus. At this point, Groban sings “Sweet hymns of joy, in grateful chorus raise we.”

As Groban is singing “Noel, noel,” the wise men walk into the scene, eager to give Jesus their gifts.

The scene and song end with the camera pulling out as everyone looks upon Jesus and Groban sings “Oh night, oh night divine.”

It just goes to show that classic Christmas songs and the Nativity story are still appreciated today.

Some people complain about the real meaning of Christmas being lost. But videos like this and their reception online prove that there are still plenty of people who appreciate it.

Josh Groban himself is ambiguous about his personal religious beliefs. He has stated that he believes “that there is a wonderful unknown out there that we should be humble and thankful for.”

While Groban may not personally be a church-going Christian, he can clearly appreciate the teachings of the religion. Why else would he have sang O Holy Night?

That’s one of the best things about Christmas songs. They are for everyone. People don’t need to be God-fearing to appreciate their messages of love, tolerance and peace.

And Oh Holy Night isn’t Groban’s only religious Christmas song.

He has an entire album of Christmas music, with many of the tracks being covers of religious hymns and carols, such as Silent Night, Ave Maria, O Come All Ye Faithful and Angels We Have Heard On High.

It’s not unusual for popular musicians to cover religious Christmas songs. There are so many out there. And they’re a great way to make all people understand what Christmas is about.
