Most people like to sing in while showering. Even people who sound incredible outside of the shower indulge in it.

Right now, we need uplifting content more than ever before.

The description of this video, which has the key words “Josh Groban” and “shower,” sounds like something that lots of Groban’s fans would like to watch as soon as possible.

That’s right, Josh Groban recently recorded a video of himself singing in the shower. But to many of his fans’ dismay, he remained clothed throughout.

Luckily, people are still saying hallelujah over the content, because that’s entirely what the video is about.

Groban, who many people know as one of the most talented singers of the 21st century, loves to perform. But anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock knows that concerts are kind of impossible right now.

But Groban realized there was one place in his home that offered the acoustics he needed for his voice.

So he got into contact with Lucia Micarelli, one of his favorite musicians, and asked if she wanted to collaborate with him on an at-home, socially-distanced performance.

So the two musicians practiced Hallelujah, the song first penned by Leonard Cohen but made famous by the likes of Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright and many others.

After a while, they were ready to show off their performance to the world.

The video began with Groban saying hi to people and hoping that they had had a happy Easter/Passover.

He then introduced the violinist who would be accompanying him for this performance, Micarelli.

The shot cut to show Micarelli in her home, strumming the opening notes to Hallelujah on the violin. She occupied the left-hand side of the screen.

Then Groban reappeared in the middle of the screen and began singing the opening lyrics, “Well, I’ve heard there was a secret chord, that David played and it pleased the Lord.”

The strumming and singing combined beautifully.

Groban’s fans had been requesting a performance of Hallelujah for many, many years. They had probably been expecting a more refined performance than this. But there’s no denying that this stripped-down version is charming.

Then another shot of Micarelli appeared on the right-hand side of the screen. She started harmonizing with Groban. And the two voices really sounded like they really were longing for some kind of hallelujah moment in this dark time.

By the end of the performance, the two musicians knew that they had done the song justice.

Groban then uploaded it to his YouTube channel, where it has cheered many people.

In less than two weeks, it has gained over 287,000 views. It also has more than 10,000 likes and 800 comments. People have been saying things like this:

Groban dedicated the song to all of the brave frontline workers out there who are currently battling coronavirus.

Josh Groban hopes to get touring again as soon as the coronavirus crisis has passed. His earliest scheduled concert is in mid-June in Ohio. Hopefully, he will be able to perform in person for all of his fans. If not, he’s sure to entertain people in other creative ways, as this video proves! Thanks, Josh Groban, for lifting us up when we really need it.
