Judy Sheindlin, known as the judge who presides over an American arbitration reality court show, is famous for never making decisions against her better judgment. The witty judge’s always got the best answers, and she doesn’t let her emotions get in the way.

Sometimes you can’t avoid a heartwarming moment, though – and such an event happened at the Emmy Award-winning show when two people claimed to be owners of the same dog. Of course, they couldn’t both be the rightful owner, and the wise Judge Judy came up with the best way to solve the problem.

At first sight, the case seems to be tough. It’s not uncommon to see two dogs who look a lot alike. So, is the woman’s puppy really the plaintiff’s lost dog? He surely seems to think so. The man says that the dog’s real name is Baby Boy and that he ran away.

“Because someone probably stole him,” said the man who filed charges against the woman, adding that “that’s the reason why we couldn’t find him”. However, the defendant claims that she never stole any dog. Instead, she said she bought it from a woman for $50.

“Because this lady had a pitbull, she was afraid that he would attack the puppy, that’s why she was selling the little one” explained the woman who claimed to have bought the dog as a gift for her mother

Both sides seemed very convinced that they’re right. Whose dog is it then? Judge Judy didn’t seem convinced, though. She knew what to do right away, and she was only waiting for the right moment.

“My vet gave me a document to confirm that the dog is a mixed breed and that he’s 5 years old,” said the woman, confidently waving the papers in question.

However, the judge didn’t seem to be interested in that sort of proof, because a vet can’t say the dog’s age for certain. He can tell if the dog’s a puppy or estimate based off certain physical traits but providing an accurate age just isn’t possible.

Judge Judy invited the dog to the courtroom

To prove who was right, the judge ordered the dog be brought inside the courtroom. The man seemed confident that the dog would recognize him.

As soon as the dog saw his true owner in the courtroom, he turned towards him and started wagging his tail.

“Hey boy, hey Baby Boy, hey man!”

The man was more than happy to see his pup and couldn’t stop calling his name. The feeling was mutual. “Put the dog down,” ordered the judge.

When the woman put the dog down, the doggo ran under all the tables, found his owner, and started jumping around him until the judge allowed the man to pick the dog up in his arms.

We’ve never seen such a happy reunion.

Baby Boy started licking his owner’s face. He was more than happy that his true owner had appeared.

“That’s it, take the dog home!” concluded the judge.

There was no doubt that the man was the dog’s owner because the dog wouldn’t have been so happy to see a stranger.

Being a proud dog owner, Judge Judy must have understood what it feels like to be separated from your four-legged best friend

The owner of three Shih Tzus, Judy understands the love between an owner and pet, and her decision was definitely fair.

Baby Boy deserved to go home.
