Everyone in the Hollywood, Alabama Police Department adored Fox, one of their working dogs. But could he sing as well as he sniffed?

Some dogs love to sing along to their favorite songs. It’s always hilarious when this happens. Fox the police dog is no different.

One day, the cops decided to see if they could capture Fox singing on video. So they arranged a lip sync battle with his handler.

The video began with the piano notes to the song I Can Only Imagine playing.

Next, the shot cut to the cop, who synced to the lyrics “I can only imagine.”

The video cut to Fox, who looked up at his handler singing. Apparently, Fox was not in a musical mood, and he kept quiet.

The cop and the dog started walking into the distance.

The shot cut to the cop syncing to the song again.

Then it cut back to the dog, who looked up at the man, confused by his lip-syncing.

The cop realized that the dog wasn’t going to do any singing, so he threw a ball for him to fetch.

For the rest of the song, the cop kept on singing to the song in a range of different locations. Clearly, he had won the lip sync battle by a mile.

The video of the lip sync battle then appeared on YouTube, where it soon became popular. To date, it has gained over 600,000 views. It also has more than 5,700 likes and 550 comments. People have been saying things like this:

So was it a little outlandish to think that Fox would sing along to this song? Possibly.

But there are many examples of dogs singing along to songs online, so it wasn’t entirely out of the question, especially not if Fox is usually a fan of music.

In fact, there have been plenty of singing dogs on talent shows.

One highly successful YouTube video shows off five of the best animal auditions to appear on America’s Got Talent alone. The first on the list is of a singing dog

Admittedly, the dog is not technically singing. Rather the owner is using the dog for ventriloquism.

But still, that dog is technically lip-syncing, which is what the cop was trying to achieve with Fox. So this proves that it can be done (and that the footage can gain 86 million views!)

Another super popular YouTube video shows dogs barking along to Despacito.

Again, like the America’s Got Talent audition, this video uses trickery to make the dogs sing. But instead of ventriloquism, it uses snappy editing to make the dogs bark along to the famous song. It has gained 47 million views.

But one video that genuinely shows a dog singing along to music is from Belgium’s Got Talent.

The dog that appears on this audition sits next to his owner as I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston starts playing.

The dog then enthusiastically starts singing along to the music, winning over the judges and audience in the process. He has gained 20 million views.

Clearly, there’s a huge market out there for singing and lip-syncing dogs. So if you’re wondering how to make money off of your pet, why not try teaching him or her to sing?
