Lauren Spencer-Smith is one super lucky and talented 11-year-old girl! But let’s backtrack for a second!

Keith Urban is an Australian singer-songwriter, famous for songs like “But For The Grace of God” and “Somebody Like You.”

When he was performing for 20,000+ people at Sunfest back in 2015, he explained that he recently had a contest and already brought the winner, Kayla, up to the stage to perform a song with him. However, what we would soon learn is that there was another singer in the contest that blew him away — so he decided to surprise the crowd and bring her up, too.

“What happened was — there were two people I really loved. I wanted them both to come in and sing tonight,” Urban says on stage. “Particularly this next girl because she’s got an amazing little voice and she’s only eleven and I just wanted to sing with her so bad.”

Enter Lauren Spencer-Smith! When she appeared on stage, she looked surprisingly calm as a cucumber. Urban let her introduce herself and explain where she was from and where she went to school. She didn’t even start singing and the crowd was already cheering for her so loud.

So, when Urban explained to Spencer-Smith that he still wanted to sing with her, the young girl suggested that they sing the 1997 Bob Dylan hit, “To Make You Feel My Love.” Urban happily obliged and as soon as they jumped into the song, the crowd went wild.

As soon as Spencer-Smith began to sing, it was clear she had raw, natural talent. It seemed like she was barely trying — or at least, that’s what it looks like — yet, her voice was so mature and rich as butter!

Urban stood back and stuck to his guitar for the beginning of the song. He played with lots of passion but it was obvious that ultimately, he wanted the girl to have her own solo moment.

When the chorus hits, Urban then decides to come in with some heart-achingly beautiful harmonies. He still lets Spencer-Smith shine and do her thing — he is simply elevating it with secondary vocal parts. His excitement to sing with the blossoming singer was also evident.

The video is currently up to over 4 million views on YouTube, and rightfully so.

Not only is it so kind of Urban to bring a fan up on stage, but it is so terrific to see such a young girl with such a big voice. There is no doubt she will be a star!

Spencer-Smith is 16-years-old now, and she’s actually making Luke Bryan speechless on American Idol today!

We know this girl is going places with her voice, there’s no doubt in our minds. And thanks to Urban for letting young talent shine!
