Does a kickline team ring a bell to you? Are you uncertain about what it is exactly? Does it sound like a sports team of some sort? Or a cheerleading team?

Well, it’s actually the latter, but not quite the exact thing.

A kickline team performs some drills and cheerleading- but it’s a specific style of dance that possesses its own entity.

If you’ll try to Google “kickline team”, the Radio City Rockettes will most likely appear among the top search results.

It’s because, by far, they are the most famous kickline team to have ever existed.

The Rockettes were first created in the 1920s, but they have been performing in New York City since 1932. The Rockettes have been known for their long legs and the perfect high kicks in unison.

According to their official website:

“For almost a century, the Rockettes have been American icons. They have appeared at Radio City Music Hall in hundreds of stage spectaculars, and have participated in many historic and memorable events…”

A member of a kickline team must not only depend on high kicks- it’s more than that.

As described by a website, a kickline team,

“…encompasses many styles of dance including jazz, hip-hop, pom and sequences of high-kicks. The high-kick style of dance may be seen as similar to that of the Radio City Rockettes.”

A group of girls from Sanford H. Calhoun High School make a promising kickline team- and hopefully future champions!

Their team is known as the Calhoun Colts Varsity Kickline and if you’re looking for entertainment, then this group will surely bring it to your table.

This group of 24 highly-skilled girls make up the Colts Kickline team.

Together, with their amazing routine, they bagged the second place!

In a video showing their performance, the group started by strutting in four perfect lines with the utmost confidence. It seemed that they wanted to make an impact right off the bat and they wanted to impose such presence to the judges.

It almost looked like they were all itching to bring their tireless and countless practices into action. They knew that all their hard work will finally pay-off, so they decided to bring the house down with their eye-popping moves.

They were one with the music!

They executed their drills with so much precision and perfect timing. They transitioned from one drill to another without getting off the beat. All the transitions were performed smoothly as silk.

One thing to look forward to in a kickline team is the use of their poms, and with the Calhoun Colts Varsity Kickline, their poms were just one weapon in their arsenal.

They managed to put on a play with their poms- at first, half of the girls had silver pom-poms and the other half had blue pom-poms. Then at 1:20 mark of their performance, they all switched poms, thus resulting in them holding both a silver and a blue pom.

Little did we know, the show was just about to start!

The talented girls exploded with bigger drills and made their presence more evident. Their routine became more intense and you can see it in their eyes. They were really determined to win!

Everyone present during that day must’ve felt chills crawling down their spines as they watched these girls give their all. It’s GO BIG or GO HOME!

Because of their performance, not only the judges and the crowd were pleased, but also those who saw it online. Here are some of the comments:

Just when we thought that their routine was done, the girls unleashed their ultimate weapon!

They all laid down the floor and formed a circle. Well, we have seen these types of moves before, but this one was totally different!

They created an optical illusion with their movements.
