Walter and Alan were both looking for their long-lost family members. When they realized they were those family members, they were shocked and overjoyed.

In many ways, Alan and Walter were two normal kids.

They both attended the same school in Hawaii.

In sixth grade, they met one another for the first time. They both were able to bond because of their similar backgrounds.

Both of them had missing family members.

Walter had no idea who his father was. Alan had an adoptive family.

But he had zero information on his biological parents or any other family members.

The years passed by, and the kids remained good friends.

In high school, they played football together.

But then their differences became more pronounced.

Alan became something of a party animal. Meanwhile, Walter stayed home and studied. But they still stayed close, even as they grew up and started families of their own.

Walter did have a younger biological brother. But sadly, he passed away at the age of 19.

Luckily, Alan was there for Walter throughout this time.

Walter now had no siblings that he knew of. But Alan made sure that Walter had brotherly support from him.

Still, it dawned on Walter that he would probably never have any nieces or nephews.

But perhaps his absent father had had other children besides him?

When the internet became available, Walter realized that he could use it to look for family members.

He started by Yahooing and Ask Jeevesing what little he knew about his father. But sadly, every lead turned out to be a dead end.

And then DNA testing became popular.

Walter thought that at last, he had another chance to find biological family members.

Walter sent his DNA off to the company and urgently awaited the results. One day, he got the information in the mail. He and his daughter, Cindy, poured through the results.

Amazingly, the closest match shared an identical x chromosome, meaning that they both had the same mother.

Even more shocking was the fact that this person had already used the DNA testing service. He had given his username as Robbie737 to the company.

That’s when Walter made the connection.

Alan’s adoptive last name was Robinson, and his nickname was Robbie. On top of his, Alan had had a career in aviation, flying Boeing 737s. Could it be that Robbie737 was Alan?

Nervously, Walter called up Alan. He asked Alan if he had used the DNA testing company.

Alan said that he had and learned that he had a brother out there somewhere and was still looking for him. Then Walter asked his best friend if he had used the name Robbie737 for the DNA testing site.

Alan was confused. How could Walter have known that?

And then it hit him. The only way that he could have known was if Walter had also used the DNA matching service.

Walter and Alan met up in person soon after.

They had met thousands and thousands of times in the past. But this was different. Despite what the DNA said, they struggled to accept that they were truly brothers. Then they compared forearms and realized that they were both just as hairy. Finally, they accepted one another as siblings.

The brothers then held a party with all their family and friends.

They revealed that they had been brothers all along.
