Kids are going on vacation with mom – at the airport, they see divorced dad

No matter the circumstances, divorce always hits kids hard. Darcie and Callum were no different.

Darcie and Callum are two British children who have great lives. But one thing they have had to come to terms with is their parents’ divorce.

The parents decided to separate when Callum, the younger child, was just one year old.

Luckily, Darcie and Callum’s mom and dad were able to remain on good terms after their separation. They happily coordinated their lives around their kids.

Of course, it was still hard on the kids. But as Darcie and Callum grew older, they realized how lucky they were. Some kids in their school had divorced parents who detested one another.

Over the years, the kids went on vacations with their mom or with their dad. Never together.

One year, Darcie and Callum’s mom arranged a trip to the Meditteranean island of Cyprus. Naturally, the kids were excited. But little did they realize that this trip would be extra special.

The kids and mom went through Gatwick Airport customs. They then began looking for their gate. But on the way, they found something amazing.

Without the kids realizing, the mom started recording them on her phone.

Callum saw someone he recognized, his father. The dad was smiling down at his kids.

The boy was confused but happy. Then the mom announced that their dad was coming with them for this vacation.

Callum hugged his dad. Both he and Darcie couldn’t quite believe it. They kept on asking, “What?”

Neither had been on vacation with both of their parents at the same time before. At last, they were going to experience it.

Soon, the kids started crying. The mom and dad could tell then that they had done the right thing.

Needless to say, the kids had the best vacation of their lives. Hopefully, the mom and dad would go on further vacations together with their kids in the future.

What Darcie and Callum’s parents did is pretty incredible. Although they had agreed to get along for the kids’ sake, they’d never taken such a big step before.

For the vacation, they both had to brush aside past differences.

In some ways, it’s a shame that scenes like this don’t happen more often.
