Most people wish that they could have had a twin. After all, what could be better than being siblings with someone just like you? This boy did all that he could to be twins with his buddy.

One of the best things about being a kid is that you have a loose sense of what is possible.

For instance, many kids could accept the idea that they have a twin out there. After all, perhaps the stork made a mistake and accidentally dropped your twin off at the last stop. That’s what the kids in this story seemed to think.

When Myles started kindergarten, he soon became firm friends with Tanner. But after a while, he began to suspect that he and Tanner were too similar to be unrelated.

In fact, Myles and Tanner would spend all day with one another, playing, learning and generally having a great time. During these moments, the kids became even more convinced that they were identical twins.

They both liked toys, candy and stories. What were the odds of that happening!?

But then Myles and Tanner had the chance to prove their similarity to the world. The school was having a “twin day,” when children would pair up and dress alike that day. Miles and Tanner were sure that no one would be able to tell them apart if they dressed identically on that day.

Myles kept on telling his mom about Tanner and the fact that they must be twins. The mom hadn’t yet met Tanner, and she was interested to see just how similar the kids looked in real life.

Although the mom was a little worried that it could lead to a situation where she would have to explain to her kindergartener a little more about where babies come from. Because what most kids don’t realize is that the stork never makes mistakes like separating twins.

Luckily, Myles’s mom was more than happy to help her son and her son’s “twin.” She went out and purchased matching plaid outfits for the two of them.

She had tried to contact Tanner’s mom on Facebook with no luck. But if Myles and Tanner were truly twins, then she shouldn’t need to worry about the clothing fitting. Surely, they’d be the same size if they looked like twins?

So Myles’s mom gave Myles the clothing on one condition: he had to get his teacher to take a picture of himself and his twin while in the matching outfits. She needed to see if this boy was just as identical as Myles claimed.

The boy came into school in one of the plaid outfits. When Tanner came in, Myles handed him the matching outfit. So Tanner went off to the changing rooms and came back.

The teacher took the photo with Myles and Tanner and sent it to Myles’s mother. At last, she was able to see her son’s “twin.” She wasn’t expecting what she actually saw:

Of course, Myles and Tanner couldn’t tell that they did, in fact, look different. Myles’s mother thought that this was the cutest thing she’d ever seen and soon uploaded the photo to her Facebook page.

Myles and Tanner’s friendship has struck a chord with people online.

In fact, in less than two weeks, it has managed to gain over 500,000 likes, 268,000 shares and 50,000 comments.

Adults could learn a lot from these two. Too many people are still small-minded and judge others for superficial differences. But these two kids are able only to see the things that make them so close that surely, as far as they’re concerned, they could be twins.
