Relentless kitten uses persistence to paw its way into Golden Retriever’s heart

Growing up, we were always told that cats and dogs don’t get along. They are also depicted in books, kids’ television shows, and movies, as mortal enemies.

But in reality, true friendship between a cat and a dog isn’t impossible at all.

Haven’t you seen a dog and a cat befriending each other perhaps from a relative, friends, or neighbors?

They can be quite adorable.

It really happens and it’s not rare to see a dog and a cat getting along and building an unbreakable bond.

And isn’t it a beautiful thing to know that these so-called “mortal enemies” can be “best friends” also?

Koda and Keelo have an adorable story.

Koda, a rescued ginger kitten, arrived at her new forever home when he was only a month old.

He could fit in the palm of his owner’s hand.

Keelo, on the other hand, is the resident Golden Retriever of the family.

Despite belonging to different species, Keelo and Koda instantly clicked and just like what we always say, the rest is history.

Since the beginning, Keelo was fully aware that he’s older and obviously, bigger than Koda.

That’s why he always made sure that he was gentle whenever his little feline brother was next to him.

Koda would always paw play with his bigger furry brother. He would bug Keelo whenever and wherever.

Right from the start, the ginger kitten loved every detail about Koda, particularly its thick and silky golden fur.

Keelo didn’t mind being disturbed.

Actually, he looked at it differently.

The gentle giant loved everything about his little feline brother and there’s literally nothing more that he could’ve asked for except Koda growing up with him.

Wish granted, days, weeks, and months went by and Koda and Keelo were still together creating beautiful memories as best friends and siblings.

There’s literally nothing in the world that could separate the two. They snuggled and cuddled, ate together, remained playmates, and most importantly, still the best of friends.

Since Koda has grown a little, Keelo started to be more playful and active whenever the two are together.

It’s actually amazing that Keelo, from the very start, knew how to adjust accordingly and when needed.

This video montage shows 8 months of Keelo and Koda being together and there’s not much of a change if I may say.

They remained good friends and there was never a dull moment when these two furry friends were together.

Dogs hating on cats is myth

Koda and Keelo’s beautiful story is just one of the many other real-life examples of friendship between these two different species.

They are as cute as can be.

According to Wikipedia:

“The generally aggressive interactions between the species have been noted in cultural expressions. In domestic homes where dog and cat are reared and trained properly, they tend to relate well with each other, especially when their owner is taking good care of them.”
